Jennifer Lawrence Talks Overcoming Anxiety And ?Ageing Like A President?

Actress Jennifer Lawrence is the undisputed queen of real talk. When she’s not working on her rising career – getting a pay rise, working on a screenplay and being hilariously, unashamedly honest on red carpets – she’s inspiring women with her painfully relatable comments on anxiety.

?I’m so scared to say anything now,? she admitted earlier this year. ?I can see every negative way that people can take it. It probably comes from Googling myself. If it were up to me, I would not talk. I would just act,? she told the New York Times.

The 25-year-old recently revealed she had her own mantra for dealing with the pressures of public life. ?I have a prescription,? she said. ?Outwardly, I look like I’m having a blast, But inside I’m terrified.? The young star was applauded for her honesty and revealed that she has managed to overcome her initial fears and found a ?new normal? that works for her.

Speaking of her anxiety, she explained: “Now it’s very easy for me because I’m isolated. I have a new normal now. I feel very stable, and normal, and happy, but it took a few years to get used to being looked at differently. It’s kind of an alienating feeling.”

“It was a few years of getting used to it. Then it was “OK, let’s get back to work” and people react and can do whatever they want. That’s fine, and it’s on them.?

She then admitted that she works “obsessively” to avoid going “crazy”, but also because it helps her cope with?life in the public eye. “Your entire world changes,” Lawrence said of her adjustment to fame.

At a press conference for the impending release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Lawrence, who has been playing the role of dystopian heroine Katniss Everdeen for five years, also said she feels like her momentous schedule is taking its toll on her physically and ?ageing her like a president.?

“I try to keep working so people can see other characters and other things I can do instead of taking vacation time, and now I’m aging like a president,” she said, adding that she preferred to stay firmly focused on her aspirations. “I hate waking up without a goal or going to sleep without achieving nothing.”

With such a reputable CV and enviable work ethic (and the rest), this Oscar winner hasn’t been dubbed one of the most impressive women of her generation for nothing.
