The dining room includes a mixture of vintage furniture from ASt?r in Galway, and original furniture that has either been handmade or restored by Russell and Emer and their family.

The current issue of Image Interiors & Living brought you inside the gorgeous home of Emer Fitzpatrick and Russell Hart, a creative duo who met while working at the Irish Museum of Modern Art. Together they run the stop b and b, an artsy retreat just outside Galway’s city centre. It shares a lot of the same design principles as their unique, personality-filled family home and we couldn’t resist giving you a tour of this inspiring space.

?Similarly to the house, form follows function,? says Russell of the B&B, which is minimal, but not bare and, like their home, in a constant state of change. ?Both houses take inspiration from one another and inform each other.?

Most of the bedroom furniture has been custom-built by the family, from dinky desks to bedside tables and even the bedframes, which cleverly feature hidden storage space.

Moving away from the traditional B&B, each bedroom has been designed to have its own personality, with thoughtfully selected original artworks throughout the house. ?We like to buy art at graduate shows and swap art between our house and the B&B to shake things up every now and then,? Russell says.

To see Russell and Emer’s stylish and contemporary home, pick up the current issue of Image Interiors & Living. The stop b and b, 38 Father Griffin Road, Galway. Prices from €30 per person per night.
