3 new Irish interiors shops to check out now that lockdown is over

Trying to get a business off the ground is hazardous at any time, but trying to do it in the middle of a pandemic is near impossible. Here are three new Irish interiors shops to support.

From mid-March until just this week, it felt like time had stopped. “It is unseasonably warm out today,” regularly fluttered across my mind before I corrected myself that it is in fact late May and not the week after St Patrick’s Day.

However, despite the sensation, time has most definitely not stood still. Some have taken the downtime to learn to bake, others picked up a crafting habit, almost none of us got fitter. But some took the lull as an opportunity to throw themselves into their new business.

Thanks to their hard work, while we were all mid-day napping in the sun, here are three new Irish interiors shops to put on your radar.

Mano Exotic Homeware

Inspired by travels to Bali, Eliza Czuba has founded this new online interiors brand in Newbridge, Co Kildare. Mano has launched its online shop during lockdown, and it’s bang on time for some sun-soaked interiors to cheer you up from thoughts of an overcast Irish summer.

Building a personal relationship with all of the craftspeople they work with, Mano is made up of predominantly Indonesian-made pieces, many of which are hand-made and hand-decorated.

Oriana B

Not technically “new” as it’s just turned one, Oriana B was founded by Katharine Deas in early 2019. With a focus on high-quality vintage furniture, as well as contemporary pieces and accessories, the online shop is a colourful and bohemian mix of mid-century modern interiors and kooky tableware and textiles.

Mostly online, Oriana B is ready to launch its first brick-and-mortar spot once restrictions end, in its Irishtown showroom, so get in touch to book an appointment.

Gifted from Ireland

You might have heard of the Gifted Fair, running in the RDS every winter. Following the December 2020 fair, they decided to launch their own website, celebrating the best of Irish craft and design.

Designed as a year-round digital hub to their two sprawling weekends in the RDS, you can pick up anything from jewellery and fashion to homewares, skincare and food, all Irish designed and made.

Naturally, we went straight to the homeware section, where they have creations from makers like Danu Ceramics, Millbee Studio and Roy Humphries.
