If you’re a fan of bijou spaces, one of these homes in Cork City could be right up your street.
If you love the buzz of living close to a city centre, then a tiny home could be perfect for you. More affordable than their larger counterparts, they have a wonderful cosiness, while still containing everything you could need, with the whole city on your doorstep.
Here are four properties in Cork that fit the bill, all coming in at under €200,000.
29 Saint Finbarr’s Place, Proby’s Quay, Cork City, €165,000
Situated just two minutes walk from the city centre and UCC, located outside the city walls and overlooking Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, this two-bed home is at the heart of Cork City.
Located on a pedestrianised street, residents parking is available nearby, while there are so many close amenities a car is not even a necessity. Although just 45 square metres, the house features an open plan living and dining area, as well as a modern kitchen.
9 Rock Grove Square, Lower Glanmire Road, Cork City, €150,000
A larger home at 57 square metres, this end-of-terrace house also has two bedrooms. Inside, it has plenty of character, with exposed brickwork and wood panelling in the open-plan living room and kitchen space.
Just a ten-minute walk to the city centre, it is also conveniently located. A front garden and a rear yard also provide outdoor space, something tiny city homes often lack.
64 Friars Walk, Cork City, €170,000
Although it looks particularly tiny from the outside, the exterior of this home is deceptive, and the interior is actually much larger than you would expect, at 73 square metres.
Inside it is in good condition, with a large open plan kitchen and dining space, and two bedrooms. There is also an elevated garden to the rear. At around 20 minutes walk to the city centre, it is a little further out than some of the other properties, but is still very much part of the city.
14 Friar Street, Cork City, €195,000
This home is the most expensive of our four, but for good reason. A rear extension means the property is spacious and bright inside, with two well-sized bedrooms, one of which has French doors out to a rear deck, and an airy open-plan living space.
The deck to the rear gives views over the city, which is just over 10 minutes’ walk away.
