David Beckham To Star In Jude Law Movie

David Beckham

Since retiring from the beautiful game, former footballer David Beckham has been busy. Between supporting his wife’s designer career with strategic FROW appearances alongside Anna Wintour and showcasing his bulge in H&M advertisements, retirement for David has not been one of fallow pastures. He even found time a few weeks ago to establish the fastest growing Instagram of all time. Hint: posting photos of you being the sweetest celebrity dad of all time is a social media winner.

Now David can add yet another title to his resum? – that of actor. Yes, one of the world’s most beautiful men is finally venturing towards Hollywood way with a starring role in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur movie.

David will be joining Jude Law and Charlie Hunnam in Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur, which sounds like a triumvirate of golden-haired handsomeness the likes the screen has never seen. However, before we get giddy and start casting David as every romantic hero going – somehow we don’t think his accent will work in a Jane Austen adaptation – sources are stressing that David’s role is pitched to be that of a cameo as the Blackleg leader. If you are a scholar of Camelot and company feel free to educate us in the comments.

Filmdivider.com reports that Beckham’s character will feature early on in King Arthur’s story, who will be played by the man who never was Christian Grey Charlie Hunnam, specifically in the part of the story where Arthur pulls the sword Excalibur from the stone. The website also reports that the script contains footballing puns. Listen, you win some; you lose some.

This isn’t the first time Beckham and Richie have worked together – the director, and Madonna’s ex, directed David in a short film for H&M’s Spring collection in 2013.

So, David Beckham, Jude Law and Charlie Hunnam in one movie? Where do we pre-book?
