In the heart of Smithfield, the BlockT communal working spaces and hot desks are perfect for artists or designers or all-day laptop-ers looking to be in a busy and lively area. There’s a real sense of community here and you’re in the centre of all the action without being smack-bang in the middle of the city. Plus, due to being on the outskirts of the city prices are competitive and reasonable.

Things to consider before hot-desking

Your property, your problem. Most places where you rent desk space won’t take responsibility for lost or stolen goods, so?keep your belongings close by.

Have a backup wifi source. You never know when the internet might go, but using a dongle for your mobile will give you a backup option if you’re half-way through that important email and your wifi cuts off.

Price and location. You may want to work in the city centre but your budget may not allow it. If location is a top priority for you, you may have to make adjustments elsewhere in order for it to work.

Stealing wifi from the caf? isn’t cool. There are only so many coffee’s and glasses of water you can drink in one day. If your caffeine count is running high and the barista is starting to look at you funny, it might be time to invest in a hot desk.

Working in a hot-desk co-work community is becoming an integral part of creating, and hot-desking is not only a solution for business on a budget or aspiring thinkers, but it can it’s an excellent way to network and spark future collaboration.
