Michael Fassbender in MacBeth
Be still our Michael Fassbender-beating hearts. If you want something to swoon at this Saturday, we’ve got the very thing. The trailer has just been released for the epic-looking new MacBeth movie, starring our own Michael Fassbender (he’s half-Irish so technically he’s ours), Marion Cotillard and a host of other famous faces, including fellow Irish actor Jack Reynor.
ICYMI: Hollywood Is Making Another Sister Act Movie
Michael (or The Fass as we sometimes fondly call him) looks all handsome and rugged (we love the beard) and does a Scottish accent so on point he looks like he’s walked straight off a Game Of Thrones episode. What follows is gorgeous sets, bloody battle scenes and a glimpse at what looks like one hell of an exciting movie.
The Shakespearian remake of the classic story has been much anticipated since its recent debut at this year’s Cannes Film Festival (to rave reviews no less), and Michael lights up the screen as the bloodthirsty yet tragic Scottish lord. Directed by Justin Kurzel, the long-awaited film stars Marion Cotillard (who won a well-deserved Oscar for playing the iconic Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose), as the very beautiful, but icy Lady Macbeth. Initially, we weren’t sure about this two as an on-screen pairing, but they have terrific chemistry in the clip.

It’s not set to hit our screens until October, but if the trailer is anything to go by, we can expect great things and no doubt flurries of awards for Mr. Fassbender. Watch it below:
