Phase 3: Here is a list of everything allowed to reopen and restart from today

With Phase Three of the government’s roadmap to reopening the country starting today, we take a look at everything that is allowed to resume

Today Ireland enters Phase Three, the second last phase in the government’s roadmap to reopening the country.

It will be a welcome day for many businesses that have been closed since March.

Following this, one more phase remains and that will begin on Monday, July 20.

Here is a full list of what is opening and restarting operations from today.

Businesses

Hairdressers, barbers, beauty services such as nail salons, spas and tanning services are set to resume today.

Restaurants, cafes, and pubs that serve food can restart trading under strict social distancing rules. Two-metres is advised, although if this is not possible one metre is allowed. Customers will only be able to spend a maximum of one hour and 24 minutes in a pub and must spend a minimum of €9 on a meal.

All remaining retail outlets are to open including bookmakers.

Hotels, hostels, caravan parks and holiday parks are returning to business under guidelines from Fáilte Ireland.

Indoor gyms, swimming pools, leisure centres, Pilates, yoga and dance studios are also opening to the public. Plus, chiropractors, massage therapists and homoeopaths.

The government is still advising businesses who can work from home to do so.

Things to do

Cinemas, music venues, bingo halls, arcades, museums, galleries and theatres will resume business in this phase. However, nightclubs must remain closed.

Driving lessons and driving tests can also begin again.

Churches and other places of worship are set to restart normal services.

Sports and group exercise are allowed to pick up, along with close contact sports, leagues, and events with spectators.

Movement of people

From today, indoor gatherings of up to 50 people are allowed and outdoor gatherings of up to 200 are permitted in line with public health guidance.

Domestic travel can resume, meaning people are allowed to travel anywhere in the country.

Prison visits will also recommence.
