The best Twitter reactions to the ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ trailer

The best Twitter reactions to the ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ trailer

Watch the trailer at your own risk. Touted as a romantic comedy with quite the cast (starring Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, Jon Hamm, and Christopher Walken), all some of us have to say after watching is, has any one of them ever been to modern Ireland? It’s hard to think so, just as it’s a surprise that Christopher Walken has the best Irish accent out of a bad bunch of accents. Delightfully cringe-making, we’ll have to watch the film in full now – or maybe we’ll half-watch it

In Wild Mountain Thyme, Blunt plays Rosemary Muldoon, a headstrong farmer with a ‘yearning’ shall we say for her neighbour, Anthony Reilly (Dornan). Unfortunately for Rosemary, he is completely oblivious to her feelings for him. His father (Christopher Walken) is working to sell the family farm to his American (Thank God) nephew (Jon Hamm). The Ireland-set romantic drama comes from John Patrick Shanley, the Oscar-winning writer of Moonstruck and frankly, we have many, many questions.

Watch the trailer for yourself:

The reaction on Twitter has been even better than the release of the trailer (looking on the bright side, it has provided some light, comical relief), here are some of our favourite reactions.

In all seriousness, the full-length feature is bound to be quite something. We’re just unsure what that something is at this moment in time.
