From Longford and Edenderry to Enniskerry and Dublin city, team IMAGE loves nothing more than nipping out for a lunchtime treat. Here are some of our favourite cafés and restaurants to visit when we need a well-deserved break while working from home…

When I’m working from home in Enniskerry my go-to lunch spot is Poppies – they do home cooked comfort food, and the atmosphere is lovely. They are also big into sustainability, they have solar tubes and solar panels. They also give away their used coffee grinds, I’ve taken a few bags to help keep the slugs at bay!
Another place in Enniskerry I love for a sandwich is OhSo. Their vegan sandwich with extra siriacha is delicious.

Working from home in rural Longford means that it’s usually a homemade lunch for me, but if my sister happens to be home, we’ll sometimes head into town for a little treat… what is life without a little treat?
I used to work at Torc Café back in the day so I love popping in there for a hot chocolate (it’s to die for). Moments serves all-day veggie breakfast (my love language) and Fabiani’s caramel square is the perfect midday pick-me-up. That’s the trifecta right there.

My lunchtime routine usually involves a smoked salmon bagel and a lukewarm coffee as I sit in the balcony doorway, desperately trying to squeeze in some fresh air and maybe even some vitamin D, but on those days I want to treat myself a little bit more, I head straight for Urban Grind. They do the best coffee, and even just the thought of their honey mustard sausage rolls… be still my beating heart.
If I’m at home in Roscommon, my mother and I love going to Rogue & Co., because while they’ve got wraps and sandwiches and all that lunchtime good stuff, they’ve also got more filling options too if you fancied an early dinner — their yellow curry is delicious.

I live very close to Drumcondra, so my go-to lunch spots are Sugarloaf Bakery, a Brazilian café that does amazing coxinhas and sweet treats, or Shouk, a Middle Eastern restaurant that’s perfect for meeting up with a few friends. They do small plates with fresh hummus and delicious pitas.
Also, a great Greek street food place called Yeeros just opened down the road and I’ve heard good things – must try it soon!

Living in the countryside means that I am very limited for lunch spots but I do love popping into Forj Coffee Co. for a coffee and a sweet treat in the afternoon! Their coconut flat whites and peanut butter protein balls are to die for!
Megan Burns, IMAGE Interiors Editor
I don’t have the best lunch options near me at home, but when I’m in the office I love to head to tír for one of their bowls. The menu changes quite often depending on what’s in season, but there’s always something delicious!
