A new show by Phoebe Waller-Bridge is in the works and set to start shooting by the end of this year.
Since the second and final season of Fleabag broke our hearts, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been very busy. She co-wrote the latest Bond film No Time To Die, the first season of Killing Eve, executive produced and appeared in the HBO series Run, appeared in the fantasy series His Dark Materials alongside the Hot Priest, directed and starred in music videos with Harry Styles and Phoebe Bridgers and is set to star alongside Harrison Ford in Disney/Lucasfilm’s upcoming instalment of Indiana Jones.
When Fleabag’s final season won six Primetime Emmys for Prime Video, with Waller-Bridge taking home three awards, she signed an enormous three-year deal with Amazon Studios for an estimated $20 million per year. The deal saw her briefly attached to a series reboot of the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie movie Mr & Mrs Smith with Donald Glover, but she exited the series in September 2021, citing “creative differences.”
Finally, Deadline reports Prime Video has greenlighted a new Phoebe Waller-Bridge show, the first created in her overall deal with Amazon and the “long-awaited followup to her Emmy-winning series Fleabag.”
Unfortunately, further details are sparse as details of the new show are being kept firmly under wraps, but according to Deadline, it will start shooting by the end of the year. We don’t know will it be a comedy or a drama, if Waller-Bridge will star in the series or write it, but here’s hoping for the darkly comedic Waller-Bridge signature we’ve come to expect from Fleabag, Crashing and Killing Eve.
Stay tuned for more updates on what’s to come from the Phoebe Waller-Bridge series.
