All the best things to look forward to at All Together Now 2024

There’s something inherently thrilling about camping out in a mucky field surrounded by friends. If you're spending the August bank holiday at All Together Now, here's what to put on your must-see list.

Set against the beautiful surrounds of the Curraghmore Estate in Co. Waterford, the festival – a strictly over-21s event – has surged in popularity since its inception five years ago. This year, more than 25,000 people are expected to descend on The Déise for three days of music, food and fun.

From incredible headliners to side-tickling comedy sets, Dolly Parton tribute acts and more, here’s what you won’t want to miss at All Together Now 2024.

The line-up

Arguably the main draw of any good festival, this year’s line-up is packed with talent so now’s the time to start narrowing down your ‘not to be missed’ list. Set across 18 different stages, headliners include Jorja Smith, James Vincent McMorrow, The Prodigy, Róisín Murphy, The Mary Wallopers and Natasha Beddingfield, as well as plenty of Irish artists too.

Rumour has it Kabin Krew (who have the song of the summer, if you ask me) will also be making an appearance.

Music aside, there are plenty of other performers set to take to the stage throughout the weekend – so do try to leave your tent for a mid-day stroll if you can manage it. The comedy stages will host a diverse line-up of both established comedians and rising stars, ensuring there’s something to tickle everyone’s funny bone. Big names include Tommy Tiernan, Emma Doran, Ardal O’Hanlon and Neil Delamere.

The stages

Set across 18 different stages, you’ll be walking among more than 800 years of Irish history around what was the home of the 9th Marquis of Waterford. Spanning some 2,500 acres, the grounds include formal gardens, woodland, and grazing fields, making this the most extensive private house and gardens in all of Ireland.

Following its debut last year, the Guinness Lovely Days stage will return once again this year. A festival favourite thanks to its immersive and multisensory design, it was created by Kev Freeney and Jordan Ralph, and is built with the beauty of Curraghmore’s natural, tree-lined backdrop in mind.

The Jameson Connects Circle stage is also making a comeback for 2024, this time with an accompanying shop stocking the best Irish brands and merch (proceeds will go to Arts & Disability Ireland). The new Jameson merch was created in collaboration with Irish designer Sarah Moloney and includes t-shirts, long-sleeve tops, hats and more.

New additions this year include the Hidden Sounds with Dingle Gin stage, tucked away in the woods, and IMMERSE, a newly constructed environment nestled in a serene clearing at the top of the festival’s lush woodland area.

Boutique camping

Sleeping on the ground in a tent you’ve half-heartedly constructed yourself isn’t ideal. For those looking for a slightly more refined festival experience, why not upgrade to pre-pitched or boutique camping instead? The former category ranges from two or four-person polyester tents located in a separate area to general camping with additional extras such as mattresses, sleeping bags and camping chairs to dome tent packages for up to eight people.

Boutique camping options include silk road tents, a bespoke range of bell tents – from basic up to luxury – and podpads, a unique glamping experience that offers an alternative to traditional camping.

Wellness

Needless to say, a three/four-day long camping festival is a marathon, not a sprint so looking after yourself should be priority number one. Thankfully, there will be plenty of wellness events to help you do so from yoga sessions to sauna treatments, hot tubs, sound bath experiences and more. Head over to the Lawns of Tranquility to find your zen.

Food, glorious food

You may not be able to whip your own brekkie (BBQ or gas cookers are not permitted) but fear not, there will be plenty of food options to keep you satiated at All Together Now this weekend – including extensive options for vegans and vegetarians.

Crudo, the award-winning casual dining restaurant inspired by Mediterranean fare, will be on-site for an exquisite four-course dinner available over all three days, along with a delicious brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Elsewhere, the Grub Circus at The Theatre of Food is another not-to-be-missed event.  A two-day extravaganza of events, demos, cooking competitions, tastings, workshops and debates, some of Ireland’s top food personalities will be partaking including chefs, producers, growers, makers, distillers, food writers and more.

Family-friendly activities

If you didn’t know, All Together Now is a family-inclusive festival so children under 12 are most welcome to tag along. Acclaimed kids event producer Mel Wilds has curated a special array of child-friendly activities to keep the little ones entertained. Located within a tranquil garden space in Curraghmore, kids will have the freedom to run, explore and participate in a host of fun-filled activities promoting creativity, imagination and a sense of adventure.

Disco Shed will return for another year, with music and games all weekend along with Actual Reality arcade’s vintage life size games, cooking workshops, crafts, free face painting, circus workshops, science experiments, nature inspired activities and giant bubbles. There’ll be magic shows, a rock stars dance academy, creative mindfulness, music from Lily’s Driftwood Bay, fairytale characters and fabulous wandering performers. Kids Together will be open from 12-5 on Friday and 10.30-4.30 on Saturday and Sunday.
