Dreaming of summer days in the garden? Get planning now with our outdoor furniture edit

H&M

If ever there was a year to invest in outdoor furniture, this is definitely it.

While we’re not allowed to gather in gardens yet, it seems hopeful that we can have a summer of outdoor meet-ups with friends and family to look forward to.

When the time comes that we can welcome people into our gardens again, whether it’s for a barbecue, evening cocktails or just an afternoon coffee and cake, we want to make sure we’re prepared. No one wants to find they’re short of chairs after waiting so long to invite our loved ones over.

If last year is anything to go by — when the nation collectively kitted out their outdoor spaces leading to sold-out styles everywhere — it’s a good idea to get your order in early.

We’ve found some stylish outdoor benches, sofas, and lounge chairs, as well as accessories to bring your space together.

Benches

A really versatile piece of furniture, a bench is the perfect choice if you want something that can work in any situation. They’re perfect around a dining table, set amongst plants to create a quiet spot, or pulled onto the patio when you’re short a seat or two.

There’s also plenty of styles to choose from, whether you prefer a rustic look or something more modern.

Sofas and lounge chairs

Ideal for those long afternoons where you can’t imagine leaving the sun to go inside, outdoor sofas and lounge chairs are undoubtedly the most comfortable option out there when it comes to garden furniture.

They’re also great when catching up with a friend, or as somewhere to relax with a drink after dinner.

Lost Weekend

It’s easy to forget about details like outdoor lighting and textiles, but they can really impact your enjoyment of your space. A fire pit will warm things up when the sun goes down, while it’s never a bad idea to have plenty of extra cushions around.
