Emily in Paris and a new Vince Vaughn film – what to watch this week

From new episodes of Emily in Paris to a film starring Vince Vaughn and a Netflix series with Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry, here's what to watch this week.

Monday

The Body Next Door, Sky Documentaries/NOW

What begins as a seemingly harmless prank in the sleepy Welsh town of Beddau takes a horrifying turn when a medical skeleton is revealed to be a dead body. What follows is a gripping murder mystery intertwined with a dramatic family saga.

Tuesday

Inside Out 2, Sky Cinema/NOW

Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley, just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected; new emotions. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up… and it looks like she’s not alone, bringing Embarrassment, Envy and Ennui along with her. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust.

Wednesday

Bad Monkey, Apple TV+

Bad Monkey tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realises that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.

Thursday

Emily In Paris Season 4 Part 1, Netflix

Much like Bridgerton, Emily in Paris Season 4 will be split into two five-episode parts – part one premieres on Netflix on August 15 followed by part two on September 12. So, what can we expect from our favourite American abroad? After the dramatic events of Camille and Gabriel’s misbegotten wedding, Emily is reeling: She has strong feelings for two men, but now Gabriel’s expecting a baby with his ex, and Alfie’s worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed. At work, Sylvie is forced to confront a thorny dilemma from her past for the sake of her marriage, and the Agence Grateau team navigates personnel shakeups. Mindy and the band prepare for Eurovision, but when funds run dry, they’re forced to get thrifty. Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of. Drama, drama, drama.

Friday

The Union, Netflix

Mike (Mark Wahlberg), a construction worker from Jersey, is quickly thrust into the world of super spies and secret agents when his high school sweetheart, Roxanne (Halle Berry), suddenly comes back into his life and recruits him on a high-stakes U.S. intelligence mission.

Saturday

Jackpot!, Prime Video

In the near future, a ‘Grand Lottery’ has been newly established in California – the catch: kill the winner before sundown to legally claim their multi-billion dollar jackpot. When Katie Kim (Awkwafina) moves to Los Angeles, she mistakenly finds herself with the winning ticket. Desperate to survive the hordes of jackpot hunters, she reluctantly joins forces with amateur lottery protection agent Noel Cassidy (John Cena) who will do everything in his power to get her to sundown in exchange for a piece of her prize. However, Noel must face off with his slick rival Louis Lewis (Simu Liu), who also seeks to collect Katie’s commission at all costs.

Sunday

Alien: Romulus, in cinemas nationwide

Now in its seventh instalment, Alien: Romulus takes the phenomenally successful Alien franchise back to its roots. Set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), the film follows a group of young space colonists who, while scavenging a derelict space station, come face to face with the most terrifying life form in space.
