What to get the foodies in your life this Christmas

The delicious treats and tempting tipples that even the fussiest foodie you know will be delighted to receive in their stocking.

When present-buying for someone who has a particular passion for food, it’s easy in one sense, as you know they’ll love something food-related. However, this can itself pose its own problem if you don’t share their fascination.

While you may not be excited to receive seemingly everyday items like chocolate, wine, salt or coffee, choosing the right ones are certain to get a great response from your foodie recipient. And if you don’t believe that anyone really wants salt as a present, I promise you that I’d be delighted to receive some nice flaky salt, bonus points if it’s Irish.

Here are some ideas that your foodie friends will love.

For wine buffs

A wine gift box is an easy way to please a wide variety of people, and you don’t even have to trawl the shelves of your local off-licence.

For chocolate obsessives

There’s chocolate, and then there’s handmade, Irish chocolate, with flavours on a totally different level than your average bar.

A foodie experience

If you’d prefer to buy them something that lets them expand their knowledge, there are plenty of great foodie experiences out there to gift.

For cocktail lovers

Perfect for your friend who’s always shaking up something interesting at their bar cart.

Stocking fillers

Little foodie treats that will still be very nuch appreciated.

For outdoor cooking enthusiasts

If you know someone who’s glued to the barbecue or loves gathering outdoors, they’ll love one of these gifts.

For condiment lovers

The people who believe no meal is complete without a little something extra on top.

For coffee aficionados

If they carefully grind beans for their morning brew, then they’ll definitely thank you for a coffee-lover’s gift.

For bread bakers

If they’ve been faithfully keeping a sourdough starter alive, or just like to make soda bread at the weekend, they’ll thank you for these handy accessories.

For recipe experimenters

Because there are some of us who can just never have too many cookbooks…

And if you can’t decide…

Get them a little bit of everything with a gorgeous festive hamper.
