Get ready for summer beach days with these colourful accessories

Dreams of days spent at the beach helped sustain us through winter, and now that we can finally make them a reality, we’re prepping in style.

Packing up to head to the sea for the day is no small task. Between bringing things to sit on, towels if you go for a swim, extra layers in case the sun suddenly disappears, and the endless other things that pop into your head, you might feel like you’re prepped for a week away rather than just a few hours.

We can also empathise with Amy Huberman fighting with the pop-up beach tent, trying to get it back in its case. A beach day is not without its trials.

However, there’s undoubtedly something exciting about this preparation, and we’re definitely relishing the chance to venture to our favourite beaches this summer, even if we never end up using half the things in our trusty beach bags.

We’ve found loads of gorgeous beach accessories to help you get ready for your next day by the sea. We’ve left the pop-up tents out though, you’re on your own with those.

Chairs, blankets and parasols

If you’re setting up for the day, you can make things comfortable (and sun-safe) with a combination of folding chairs, blankets to sit on, and something to provide shade.

Beach towels

Toujours beach towel €55, Anthropologie

Essential if you’re planning a dip in the sea, or just handy to sit on if you’re not, these gorgeous towels will instantly bring a summer mood, even if the sun’s gone behind a cloud.

Snack time

Portable check cooler, €19.99, Zara Home

If you’re packing up drinks and snacks, you want them to stay cool and unsquished, so these accessories are ideal.

Entertainment

Hamptons Inflatable Ball, €26, Smallable

Something to keep the kids (big or small) entertained is always a good idea.

Beach bags

Ahoi Marie Bag, €20, Shells

Essential to carry the approximately one million things you want to bring with you – the bigger the better.
