Let's give a warm welcome to podcaster, content creator, and self-confessed internet addict Jenny Claffey.
The host of true crime podcast Red Room, Jenny has joined the fold as our brand new monthly columnist, delving into the good, the bad, and the ugly of internet culture so that you never miss a beat.
Jenny’s inaugural piece was all about Jojo Siwa and the sanitised child star rebrand, and we can’t wait to read about what niche facet of online culture comes next.
Here, she’s giving us the lowdown on all of her favourites from the past month or so, from fashion finds to interior inspiration…
Books: I am incredibly late to the game and just listened to Julia Fox’s memoir Down The Drain which I devoured. I’m not big into memoirs, but when the author narrates the audiobook it adds an authenticity that is unmatched in my opinion! Currently, for the book club, I run we are reading Life Ceremony by Sayaka Murata and it’s already amazing.
Interiors: I recently bought my first home and renovated it and I love to buy as much second-hand as I can. We bought a genuine Ligne Roset Togo Modular Sofa and a Mid-Century Mcintosh dining set on Adverts — don’t sleep on it! The trick is to check almost every day and have alerts set up for specific pieces you’re looking for.
Culture: I’ve been obsessed with Charli XCX’s new album Brat (along with everyone else I know) and for good reason, it’s the perfect summer album packed full of songs that will make you want to stay up dancing until 4am.
Fashion: Speaking of moving house, I recently rediscovered an old & Other Stories leather handbag that I bought years ago and had in storage for a while, if you’re looking for a more affordable version of a bag from The Row, & Other Stories is your best option in my opinion!
Food: My current obsession is Turkish Eggs, I recently made my own and while it was a little bit more work than my usual scrambled eggs on toast it was well worth it.
