In honour of her Oscar nomination, here are five Kerry Condon films to watch this weekend
10th Mar 2023
Hotly tipped to take home the Best Actress in a Supporting Role award at this weekend's Academy Awards, Kerry Condon has been in the film industry for over twenty years now.
Ahead of the 95th Academy Awards ceremony on Monday 13 March, you may want to brush up on the catalogues of work produced by the immensely talented contingent of Irish nominees. By now, it’s safe to assume that everyone has seen The Banshees of Inisherin — which has been nominated for a grand total of nine awards — but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Kerry Condon’s acting career.
Having made her television debut back in 1999 on Ballykissangel alongside Colin Farrell, the pair met again in 2003 on the set of Intermission, a film in which Condon played a waitress who was punched in the face by Farrell’s character.
Playing the role of his character’s sister Siobhán in Banshees, Condon received a shout out from Farrell during his Golden Globes acceptance speech. He said: “Kerry, to finally see the world… after 20 years of acting, find your work now, you’re extraordinary.”
