Kylie Minogue and Calvin Harris to headline Electric Picnic 2024

Due to return once again this summer, Electric Picnic will take place two weeks earlier than usual, running from August 16 – 18.

After months of speculation as to who would headline, Electric Picnic finally announced its line-up for this year’s festival.

Noah Kahan will take to the stage on Friday night, welcoming the crowds for what promises to be another successful weekend.

Calvin Harris is the headliner on Saturday while Kylie will close out the weekend on Sunday. Other acts confirmed for this year’s festival include Peggy Gou, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Belfast rap group Kneecap.

The announcement comes slightly later than usual – it’s typically revealed in March – which led many online rumours questioning whether the festival would go ahead at all this year.

One of the country’s largest music festivals, Electric Picnic has been running for two decades now, starting out as an intimate one-day event back in 2004 before growing into the weekend-long bonanza it is now. The sold-out 2024 edition marks the 20th year of the festival and who better to mark such an occasion than Ms. Minogue?

Traditionally held on the first weekend in September in Stradbally Hall, Co. Laois, last year organisers decided they would be moving the date forward for the first time with EP 2024 set to take place in mid-August instead. The new dates were reportedly not well received by local farmers, who have raised concerns about the festival taking place in the middle of harvest season. However, festival director Melvin Benn has since stated that the change is a one-off and was done to facilitate the schedule of touring artists. It’s expected that the festival will revert to its usual September residency in 2025.

Aside from the music, the festival also features plenty of art, theatre, comedy, holistic health and delicious food so stay tuned for more announcements on that front in the coming months.
