New summer scents: candles and diffusers to bring a fresh touch to your home
26th Jun 2021
These fresh and light home fragrances are perfect for warmer days.
If you love having gorgeous scents in your home, whether it’s lighting a candle in the evening or letting a diffuser softly infuse your space with scent, you might be looking for something more summery at the moment.
While we often favour richer scents in the colder months, for longer, brighter days we crave something lighter. Here are some summery fragrances to add to your home.
LOEWE
Spanish brand LOEWE, with their Northern Irish creative director Jonathan Anderson, have a gorgeous collection of home fragrances, candles and rattan diffusers that have just launched in Brown Thomas.
With scents such as tomato leaves, luscious pea, coriander, and oregano, they all evoke a unique, fresh mood. The candles come in handcrafted ceramic containers that can be kept forever, while the diffusers have rattan rods.
Soilse
Handmade in Dundalk by Karen Lavelle, Soilse candles already have many fans, with their essential oil-based fragrances that are inspired by nature and the changing seasons.
They will be launching a new scent, Hay, in August. Inspired by childhood summer days spent in the Irish countryside, it is a fresh yet earthy aroma with delicate floral notes and top notes of grass and honey.
April and the Bear + Sómas
We’re excited for this collaboration between interiors store April and the Bear and Sómas candles. Lavender is a favourite summer scent of many, so we predict this lavender leaf scent will prove popular.
The candle will launch in July, exclusively in April and the Bear’s Rathmines store.
The Handmade Soap Co.
The Anam candle, a new addition to the range, has a coriander seed, geranium and vetiver fragrance smells like a summer evening, while a touch of lavender calms your senses. It’s definitely one I find myself returning to for a mix of freshness and relaxation, and is also available in an essential oil blend, €15.
The Secret Garden
Perfect for those that love a floral touch, the Bergamot & Tea Rose The Secret Garden candle by Natasha Rocca Devine also has fresh citrus notes.
Created in collaboration with Irish perfumer Lucy Hagerty, founder of La Bougie, the scent is inspired by Natasha’s Italian heritage.
