From Pedro Almodóvar’s latest project—starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore—to a Ryan Murphy Disney series, here's our pick of the best in entertainment this week.

MONDAY

The Franchise Season 1, Sky Comedy/NOW TV

The Franchise follows the crew of an unloved franchise movie fighting for their place in a savage and unruly cinematic universe. The comedy series shines a light on the secret chaos inside the world of superhero moviemaking, to ask the question – how exactly does the cinematic sausage get made? Because every failure-up has an origin story. Starring Himesh Patel, Lolly Adefope, Jessica Hynes, Daniel Brühl, Aya Cash, Billy Magnussen, Isaac Cole Powell, Darren Goldstein and Richard E. Grant.

TUESDAY

Drive-Away Dolls, Sky Cinema Premiere/NOW TV

Written by Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke, this comedy caper follows Jamie, an uninhibited free spirit bemoaning yet another break-up with a girlfriend, and her demure friend Marian who desperately needs to loosen up. In search of a fresh start, the two embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, but things quickly go awry when they cross paths with a group of inept criminals along the way.

WEDNESDAY

Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, Sky Sci-Fi/NOW TV

Wynonna Earp—spicy, hard-living, demon-slaying anti-heroine, and great-great-granddaughter of legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, must return to her hometown of Purgatory to battle her greatest foe yet: a psychotic seductress hellbent on revenge against Wynonna… and everyone she loves.

THURSDAY

Doctor Odyssey, Disney+

From the brilliant mind of Ryan Murphy comes the high-octane procedural Doctor Odyssey. Max (Joshua Jackson) is the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all hands on deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore.

FRIDAY

Before, Apple TV+

Before is a 10-episode atmospheric, character-driven psychological thriller about Eli, a child psychiatrist who, after recently losing his wife, Lynn, encounters a troubled young boy who seems to have a haunting connection to Eli’s past.

SATURDAY

Venom: The Last Dance, in cinemas nationwide

In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on their last dance.

SUNDAY

The Room Next Door, in cinemas nationwide

Pedro Almodóvar’s latest project, The Room Next Door stars Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton as Ingrid and Martha. Close friends in their youth when they worked together at the same magazine, the twosome were later separated by the circumstances of life – Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation.
