DINE
Floritz, 22 St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin, floritz.ie
Make your next reservation Floritz, the newly opened, beautiful dining room on Stephen’s Green (right above the cosy Cellar 22 wine bar). There’s an Asian inspired menu, influenced by the journeys of adventurer Thomas Lighton, who travelled to India and the Far East before building the townhouse that Floritz is housed in. With a wide selection of gorgeous wine and cocktails, plush velvet booths and luxe wallpaper, it’s worth a visit for the interiors alone, but don’t miss the tempura rice chips with dragon sauce.
DRINK
CleanCo, coming soon to stockists nationwide
CleanCo, the award-winning non-alcoholic spirits created by Spencer Matthews are landing in Ireland this month. “I lived in a cycle of drinking excessively for most of my twenties, finding jobs where partying and entertaining was part of the package and was considered a skill,” says Spencer. “Before the birth of my first child, I decided to go clean and it unlocked a dimension of my life that I was surprised by — becoming more focused, driven, creative and able. It also felt like I had far more time in the day to achieve my goals. It didn’t take long to realise that drinking alcohol wasn’t necessary to have fun either — I’ve never looked back, I haven’t needed to. Developing CleanCo was not to preach about alcohol consumption, but to give you a choice when mixing a drink, without compromising on taste or social experience. You should be able to enjoy the delicious, refreshing cocktails you know and love without the repercussions.” With a commitment to quality, flavour and an uncompromising drinking experience, CleanCo’s sugar-free low-calorie and non-alcoholic spirits hope to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with your favourite spirit while cutting out the next day hangover. Sold.

THE MUST-WATCH
Kinds of Kindness, in cinemas now
Yorgos Lanthimos, Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe and Irish production company Element Pictures are back together again after the runaway success of Poor Things, one of three feature films from Element Pictures this year to make the official selection at Cannes Film Festival. Shot while Poor Things was in post-production, Kinds of Kindness, also starring Jesse Plemons, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer is an anthology broken into three parts with Lanthimos’s signature twisted surrealism.
THE MUST-READ
Bodies by Christine Anne Foley, out Friday, July 5
“Dark, subversive and surprising, Bodies confronts the way women’s bodies are treated and the lasting impact of trauma. It’s a novel driven by rage and grief, a yearning for connection and a desire for obliteration.” Dubbed ‘the It Girl book of the year’ (say less!), Christine Anne Foley’s debut, out Friday, July 5, explores the dark side of dating.
