Each month, IMAGE.ie brings you the IMAGE List, a monthly edit of everything you need to know about, from the tv shows that are interrupting all our meetings, the bar we’re going to for after work cocktails, the hottest new restaurants to know and the sure-to-sell-out fashion and beauty launches to set your alarms for.
DINE
Flavoured butter
Butter is whipping up a frenzy for team IMAGE – we’ve swapped after-work drinks for a flavoured butter summer. Beg, borrow or steal to get a table at Allta, where the butter is miso flavoured and the interiors are the best in Dublin, head to Bootleg where amongst incredible small plates, wines and cocktails, the butter comes crispy, salty and flavoured as chicken skin, or find a way to get a seat in Dublin’s buzziest restaurant Kicky’s for the Instagram famous carbonara butter (pictured here, with my Rhode and rosé). Spread the word.
DRINK
Tanqueray No.TEN, €45
Tanqueray No.TEN, €45, has a beautiful new bottle, and to celebrate, they’ve partnered with three of Ireland’s leading bartenders – Oisín Kelly, Bar Manager of The Sidecar at The Westbury, Adeline Valdivia, Head Mixologist of Glovebox at Allta and Andy Ferreria, Co-Founder of Cask Cork. Each has showcased their incredible cocktail artistry with a bespoke cocktail crafted with Tanqueray No.TEN and Irish ingredients such as Valentia Island Vermouth and Irish sea salt and honey, available in their individual venues – see you at the bar.

THE MUST-READ
Reality Check by Vicki Notaro, €15.99, out May 9
If you’ve picked up an Irish publication before, you’ve likely read the words of Vicki Notaro, the journalist, columnist, podcaster and former editor. Reality Check is her quite literally glittering debut novel, and it comes endorsed by all your favourite Irish writers – if Marian Keyes calls it a ‘heart-warming page-turner’ and Paul Howard says it’s ‘absolutely hilarious,’ then you know it’s good. Reality Check follows Portia, whose perfect life in Manhattan falls apart, leading her to move back to West Kerry – in the words of Deputy Digital Editor Sarah Finnan, “it’s giving Real Housewives drama with an Irish twist.” Say less.

DON’T MISS
Iconic Costumes of the Irish Silver Screen, The Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware, Kildare, from May 1
The Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware in Kildare has long played host to celebrated costumes from the world of film, from Olivia Newton-John’s black leather trousers from Grease, to Marilyn Monroe’s ‘Happy Birthday, Mr. President’ dress and Audrey Hepburn’s iconic LBD from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, but their latest exhibition stays closer to home, paying homage to the exceptional artistry and creativity of Irish costume designers and Ireland’s rich cinematic heritage.
This month the museum unveils its latest exhibition, Iconic Costumes of the Irish Silver Screen, a meticulously curated selection of 18 costumes from legendary Irish film productions as well as props, original scripts, costume continuity books, behind-the-scenes photographs and more. Created in collaboration with The Irish Costume Archive Project and co-founded by the Emmy-nominated costume designer Eimer Ní Mhaoldomhnaigh and distinguished costume practitioner Veerle Dehaene, the free-to-enter exhibition brings to life the magic of Irish cinema, with an array of costumes from a diverse range of productions from The Banshees of Inisherin to Normal People. The exhibition will run for one year, but visit quickly because until May 8, you can have a look at one of John Lennon’s long-lost original guitars and a guitar from U2’s Adam Clayton before they go up for auction by Julien’s Auctions in LA.
