From a continuation of The Jinx, the 2015 documentary that exposed killer Robert Durst to a series starring Chris O'Dowd and Zendaya's new tennis movie, here's what to watch this week.

Monday, April 22

The Jinx Part Two, Sky Documentaries

Widely considered to be one of the best true crime documentaries ever made, The Jinx tells the story of Robert Durst; a real estate heir and murderer who almost got away with it all. The Jinx Part Two is a continuation of the story. Filmmaker Andrew Jarecki continued his investigation for a further eight years, uncovering hidden material, Durst’s prison calls, and interviews with witnesses who hadn’t come forward until now.

Tiger, Disney+

Disneynature’s Tiger lifts the veil on one of our planet’s most revered and charismatic animals. The culmination of 1,500 days of filming, the incredible feature film introduces us to Ambar, a young tigress raising her cubs in the fabled forests of India. Curious, rambunctious and at times a bit clumsy, it’s clear that the cubs have lots to learn from their savvy mother who will do all she can to keep them safe from pythons, bears and marauding male tigers.

Them: The Scare, Prime Video

Back for a second season, Them will once again be set in Los Angeles County (the first instalment, subtitled Covenant, took place in Compton circa 1952 but new episodes will move the time frame forward to 1991). This time, the story centres on LAPD Homicide Detective Dawn Reeve who is assigned to a new case: the gruesome murder of a foster home mother that has left even the most hardened detectives shaken. Navigating a tumultuous time in Los Angeles, a city on the razor’s edge of chaos, Dawn is determined to stop the killer. But as she draws closer to the truth, something ominous and malevolent grips her and her family…

Challengers, in cinemas nationwide

If, like me, you’ve been glued to the press tour (and fashion) for Zendaya’s latest project, then you’ll be happy to hear that Challengers finally opens in Irish cinemas this week. Starring as the lead character, she takes on the role of Tashi, a former tennis prodigy turned coach married to a champion (Mike Faist) on a losing streak. Her strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend (Josh O’Connor). According to the reviews, this one is very sexy.

In the Land of Saints and Sinners, Netflix

Liam Neeson, Ciarán Hinds, Colm Meaney, Kerry Condon and Sarah Greene all star in this new Netflix thriller set in a remote Irish village in the 1970s. It follows Finbar Murphy (Neeson), a newly retired assassin who finds himself drawn into a lethal game of cat and mouse with a trio of vengeful terrorists.

Abigail, in cinemas nationwide

Irish actor Alisha Weir’s latest project, she stars as the daughter of a powerful underworld figure within New York City, who is captured and brought to a secluded mansion upstate. All the group of would-be criminals have to do is watch the 12-year-old overnight, and a $50 million ransom will be theirs but as the moon rises and tensions soar, it becomes blisteringly clear that Abigail has a bloodcurdling secret of her own. Speaking to IMAGE.ie at the IFTA awards on Saturday, Weir said she thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of stepping into a new role. “That’s what I love so much about acting, you get the opportunity to play different characters and that’s so exciting to me.”
