Ballymaloe House

The Johnstown Estate
A four-star hotel and spa in Co. Meath, The Johnstown Estate is a personal favourite (you can read my review here). This Valentine’s Day, they’re offering a choice of romantic spa retreats, foodie escapes and dining experiences perfect for showing the love.
The Signature Spa Indulgence package includes a bottle of Prosecco and strawberries to your room, luxury B&B and a four-course evening meal as well as a full body massage (75 minutes) designed to relieve stress and tension, followed by 90 minutes in the Rooftop and Indoor Thermal Suites. Prices start from €592 for two.
Conrad Dublin
Situated right in the heart of Dublin city, a few minutes walk from the National Concert Hall, Conrad Dublin is a great base for couples wishing to explore the capital together.
Running on select days from February 7 to 14, their Claddagh package offers a customised romantic stay that includes a speciality dinner at The Coburg, breakfast the next morning and a unique Claddagh ring-making workshop at Silverworks – a great choice if you want to impress! Prices start at €879, subject to hotel and Silverworks availability.
Midlands Park Hotel
Located in Portlaoise, Midlands Park Hotel is a great choice for a convenient and affordable getaway. Home to an in-house spa and state-of-the-art leisure centre, the four-star hotel features individually designed deluxe rooms with king-size beds and jacuzzi baths.
This Valentine’s Day, The Triog, the hotel’s on-site restaurant, will serve a bespoke three-course menu for €45 per person. An overnight B&B stay starts from €201 for two people in February – Valentine’s weekend rates start from €291.
InterContinental Dublin
Where traditional luxury meets old-school glamour, Dublin’s InterContinental hotel sits on two acres of manicured gardens just a short stroll from Sandymount Strand and Herbert Park.
Their Love & Luxury package—priced from €379 in a classic king room—is available every weekend in February (with the exception of the bank holiday/rugby weekends) and includes an overnight in a luxurious guest room, chocolate-dipped strawberries, a glass of chilled Perrier-Jouët champagne per person, breakfast the next morning and access to the beautiful wellness area featuring a heated 14-metre pool, steam room, sauna and relaxation rooms. A beloved Galway spot, you’ll find Abbeyglen Castle Hotel out in scenic Connemara. Killarney International Hotel
A four-star hotel just moments away from Killarney National Park, you’ll find Killarney International Hotel nestled in the heart of the old town. Hosting guests for more than a century, there’s nowhere better to rest your weary bones after a day exploring the kingdom.
This year, they’re dedicating the entire Valentine’s weekend to love, giving you the perfect excuse to treat someone you love. Barberstown Castle
Another beautiful hotel located in Co. Kildare, Barberstown Castle is a four-star country house and historic 13th-century castle. A proud member of Ireland’s Blue Book and The Historic Hotels of Europe, it first opened as a small guesthouse in 1971. A former home of the musician Eric Clapton from 1979 – 1987, it’s played host to many famous guests over the years.
The Castle is now privately owned and managed and has been carefully upgraded from a 10-bedroom property to a 61-bedroom hotel. The Cupid Castle experience starts from €358 and includes a stay in a luxurious four-poster bedroom, dinner in the award-winning Barton Restaurant, hand-made Irish chocolates, a rose and a glass of Prosecco. One of the best hotels I’ve had the pleasure of staying in, The Montenotte will always be one of my top recommendations in Cork. The food, the views, the staff – everything is exceptional so you really can’t go wrong with a couple’s retreat here.
In honour of Valentine’s weekend, the team has put together a Love Above the City package which includes a one-night B&B stay for two, a cosy movie night at the Cameo Cinema and a special treat waiting in your room on arrival. For dinner, treat yourself to a five-course table d’hôte dinner in Panorama. Prices start from €560 per couple per night.
Mount Wolseley Hotel Spa & Golf Resort
Set amidst the tranquil countryside of Tullow, Co. Carlow, Mount Wolseley Hotel is ideally located within an hour from Dublin, Kilkenny, and Waterford. With a sweeping tree-lined drive, a beautiful private garden, and a tranquil lake, it’s a captivating backdrop for a weekend of love.
