Vogue Williams on how to add stripes to your home and where she finds the best pieces
We are delighted to introduce Vogue Williams as IMAGE.ie's new Interiors columnist. In her first column, she shares her love of stripes and her insider guide to interiors shopping, from chic furniture to custom wallpaper.
I am a stripe addict! I adore a stripe, whether I’m wearing them or placing them all over my house, I cannot tear myself away from them. I think they add a bit of fun to a room. I have never been a fan of a feature wall, I like everything to match. Some of my favourite striped wallpapers come from a brand called Lick.
I know the amount of stripey rooms I have in my house may seem excessive but to be honest I wanted to stripe up a couple more until my husband put a stop to it. I even created a wallpaper with I Love Wallpaper for my kids’ room with a stripe featuring some bees.
Summer is on its way (I HOPE!) so it’s time to get your garden pieces in order as they always sell out super fast. I have my eye on this rug from Asiatic and Wayfair also have a great selection of outdoor rugs.
My stripe addiction is not just confined to clothes, furniture and wallpaper, I love a good stripey accessory too! Alice Palmer does the most beautiful striped cushions and tissue boxes that brighten up any space.
If you don’t want to stripe an entire room you could always add one with a piece of furniture. I have loved the B and B Italia Series Up chair for years. I have finally put my order in, it takes up to 22 weeks for delivery as there is one person that hand-stitches each chair. It’s such an iconic piece of furniture but needs a big space to take over. This chair used to come flat packed but now they come to measure your space to make sure you can get it through the door! Here are some others that I love from John Lewis and Ceraudo.
