IMAGE.ie interiors columnist Vogue Williams shares the key to finding the perfect sofa, the ones in her home and the ones on her wishlist.
The perfect sofa doesn’t exiiiiiii………
I could spend an unusual amount of time looking at sofas online, a sofa has to do a lot of important jobs. It needs to be aesthetically pleasing but also needs to have the perfect level of comfort.
I really want one of these Six The Residence curved sofas, they look so gorgeous but I don’t see myself sinking into that with a bag of Hunky Dorys after a long day. It feels more like a sofa for a hallway. I will continue to drool over this beauty until I eventually buy one that I never intend on sinking into.
Our sofa in our London home is the Jasper Modern Sofa from a brand called Love Your Home – three reasons I love it are that it’s very comfortable, I love the way it looks and you don’t have to puff it up every time you sit down on it. I know the colour is definitely not to everyone’s taste but you can choose from a tonne of fabrics which is always good.
The Crossaint sofa! What a name, what a sofa! I have actually sat in this one and it passed the comfort test, it’s on the smaller side so would work well instead of armchairs in a room. It’s a great buddy for another sofa.
I have tried to get regular sofas as I do prefer the look of them but nothing has the comfort of an L shape! I’m currently lusting over the Sits sofas, they are so sleek and cool and most importantly, comfortable!
Another sofa we have downstairs in our house is this one from Andrew Martin, I love it but if anyone so much as looks at it then you have to puff it up! In saying that it does look quite cool when messy, it is unbelievably comfortable and I have had many a nap on it!
There are also some really gorgeous sofas I found that I couldn’t help but add to my column, keep scrolling for more…
