IMAGE.ie interiors columnist Vogue Williams on bright interiors, joyful pieces and why your home needs more pink.
I’m back! Well, I kinda never left but IMAGE are keeping me on board to show you some more of my favourite interior styles.
I have already spoken of my love of pops of bold colour which I have a lot of in my London home, but they wouldn’t suit everyone’s home.
I recently had my kitchen re-sprayed and painted with Dulux Heritage paint and decided to go for more muted pastels. A pastel is a great way to add warmth to colder spaces. My place in Howth was white, I wanted everything white because I have a lot of bright art, but I was starting to feel like I was living in a white box.
I have recently put my place up for sale and with the next place every single wall will be pink! It’s not the pink you’re thinking of, it kind of looks white but a hint of pink in the paint makes the space more homely and cosy. It’s on my current kitchen cabinets. If a pink wall scares you I have found some really beautiful homeware and furniture you can add to your place.
I found Gustaf Westman on Instagram and his pieces sell out super quick, but I will forever be trying to get my hands on the blob table. The light pastel tone and big chunky legs make this coffee table look like a giant marshmallow. A perfect pop of colour for any living room, it’s a super fun piece.
I have seen these balloon style lights for ages and always wanted the plain white ones until I saw this joyous piece of art. It’s colourful but even if you want to be super safe with your fittings, I don’t think this is too out there.
As much as I would love a light pink sofa, I won’t be getting one until all of my kids move out! Having a big pastel sofa in your living room brings such a great vibe. I found this that I completely fell in love with, I don’t imagine them to be comfy enough for a hangover day in front of the TV but they definitely look good!
April and The Bear have some really cute pastel accents, I love their bar stools and gorgeous little butter dishes.
My daughter is finally getting her dream pink bedroom and I want to hang loads of these vintage hot air balloons from the ceiling. I think they would really suit a bathroom too.
