Wall-mounted kitchen storage to give you extra space exactly where you need it

If you’re always looking for just a little extra space in the kitchen, one of these clever wall-hung solutions could be the answer.

Finding a place for everything can be a struggle even in the best thought-out kitchens. Sometimes you wish there was a place to keep your most-used cooking utensils to hand, or just one more shelf in a cupboard so you didn’t have to squeeze everything in.

Wall-mounted shelving and storage is a great way to give you just a little more space in your kitchen, and depending on your layout, you can place it next to where it’s most needed, such as your hob or prep space.

Here are some of the best designs that we’ve found.

Rails with hooks are so useful in kitchens, as they allow you to keep everything from wooden spoons to your go-to frying pan close to hand. Rummaging around at the back of a cupboard or drawer just doesn’t put you in the best mood for cooking. Ferm Living Kitchen Rod, €67.45, Utility.

Combining hooks, plate racks and shelves, this hardworking unit provides a place for all your most-used kitchen items. It is also beautifully designed, and will definitely add a stylish touch to a space. Gulli Extra Large Wall Mounted Kitchen Storage Rack, €79, Made.

This versatile unit combines shelves and hooks, giving you plenty of storage options. At 55cm wide, it’s also perfect to fit into a small kitchen, and lets you make the most of your room’s height. Tikas birch wall ladder, €185, Finnish Design Shop.

So many of us have had an Ikea pegboard in our homes, but you might not have thought to use it in the kitchen. You can add hooks, rails and mini shelves to customise your own wall-mounted kitchen storage, and it’s easy to change around. Skådis pegboard combination 76 x 56cm, €46.50, Ikea.
