Paul Mescal and a puppy? Music video heaven right there…
Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge has directed a music video for her near-namesake Phoebe Bridgers, featuring Normal People’s Paul Mescal (and an adorable puppy) which should make your week.
Shot in black-and-white and released on Facebook, the clip stars Mescal, who previously starred in the Rolling Stones’ video for “Scarlet.” A bruised Mescal and a dog are seen on a beach, as Bridgers appears in several scenes as the “savior complex,”. The track appears on her album Punisher.
If that weren’t enough, it may be no coincidence that Mescal stars in. the video, with the rumour mill saying that Mescal Phoebe Bridgers are an item.
In an interview with Rolling Stone last summer, American singer Bridgers (recently nominated for 4 Grammys) spoke of Waller-Bridge and their name similarity. “I want to normalise personhood,” she said. “I feel like Phoebe Waller-Bridge has done that really well. She’s normalising being regular, doing stuff that everybody does…I think it’s literally more of a stumbling on the name. People who half know who I am and half know who she is, morphing us. I love it. I love any association. She’s so cool.”
It’s a dreamy video, but don’t take our word for it, watch it for yourself HERE
