With an expanse of beautiful gardens and woodlands most of us could only dream of, this home also has plenty of impressive reception rooms, an indoor swimming pool, and tennis court.

Set within its own private estate, Oakgrove House is situated close to Macroom town, and is surrounded by what can only be described as a gardener’s paradise. A large variety of areas, including a pond, a walled garden and mature woodland with a series of pathways means that there is scope to experiment with a wide range of planting.

The house itself was built in 1924 and incorporates part of an older building dating from 1750. With six large reception rooms and four bedrooms, the main house is suited to entertaining, while a stone cottage on the property provides a further three bedrooms.

Entering into the house, you pass through a Georgian portico into the hallway, which features a fireplace and carved wooden staircase. On the ground floor there is a morning room, dining room, drawing room and kitchen. The dining room features oak wainscoting and leads to the large kitchen, complete with breakfast area leading out to the garden.

Also on this level is the billiards room,  a cellar room, and the garden room which overlooks the lily pond and an outdoor terrace.

Upstairs, the four bedrooms all have ensuite bathrooms. The main bedroom in particular is particularly impressive, spanning the entire width of the house, with windows to the east, south and west giving natural light throughout the day. The room also has extensive fitted wardrobes, providing plenty of storage.

Across the courtyard is the pool complex, which includes the 15 metre swimming pool, a sauna, changing room and shower. There is also a small stable yard and paddocks, and a hard tennis court in the gardens.
