Jacinda Ardern has made a shock announcement that she is resigning as New Zealand prime minister, saying she ‘no longer had enough in the tank’ to do the job. She’s not alone in feeling this way - Amy Lynch made the tough decision to resign from her job despite having kids, a mortgage and a plethora of reasons not to take the hard step.

I once quit a job that almost broke me. Almost. Looking back now, at a safe distance, I can finally exhale. When I flopped on the couch after my first day at the job, I announced to my husband that I’d made a mistake. I asked: “Why did I leave the last job, again? There was great craic, morale and cups of tea. We worked hard, but we laughed hard too. Why did I leave?”...
