Historically, fewer women frequented the weights area in the gym, but times are changing. After the birth of her son, Hannah-Louise decided it was time to give weight-training a go, and hasn't looked back.

Four months after his arrival into the world, my son spent every Tuesday and Thursday morning bouncing happily in the surrounds of a stripped-back gym. One of a host of babies merrily ensconced in buggies and bouncers for a mum and baby class, he looked on in benevolent bemusement as I got to grips with learning how to lift weights.  A first for both of us, it was hard to know which one of us...
