Jenny Keane, Nadia Power and DB Donamatrix on what to expect from WellFest 2025

Heading to WellFest next month? We chat to three of the headliners on what we can expect from their appearances at Europe’s largest health, fitness and wellness festival.
Each summer, Europe’s largest health, fitness and wellness festival takes place in IMMA at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin — leaving its attendees rosy-cheeked, refreshed and revitalised on their fitness journey. Taking place from May 10-11 this year, WellFest features over 150 fitness, health and wellness experts across more than 15 stages, tapping into all aspects of health from nutrition and fitness to mental health and medical myth-busting.
Highlights of the line-up include long-time personal trainer to the Kardashians, DB Donamatrix, holistic sex educator Jenny Keane, and Irish Olympian Nadia Power. To get to know them a little better, and to gain a little further insight into what we can expect from their appearances at WellFest, we sat down with the headliners. Here’s what they had to say…
Holistic sex educator Jenny Keane
Jenny Keane’s work as a sex educator is dedicated to making people feel more confident, informed, and empowered when it comes to their sexuality. Through both her online workshops and in-person events, Jenny is striving to break taboos and show adults around Ireland that sex is as fun as it is vital. Simply put, Jenny Keane is sparking a sex revolution.
Here’s a taster of what you can expect from Jenny’s appearance at WellFest…
At WellFest, you’ll be leading a Tantra yoga session – what exactly is Tantra yoga and what are its benefits?
I will be teaching two sessions this year: I’ll be on the main stage for an incredible tantra yoga class, and then I will be bringing a fun, educational talk on improving your sex life. The type of yoga I teach is traditional Tantra yoga. It has its roots in Hatha yoga and Traditional Kundalini. Tantra is often associated with tantric sex, which is a spiritual form of sex. But these sexual practices are actually more accurately described as neotantra and have nothing to do with the yoga practice I teach. So don’t worry… nothing weird will be happening on stage!
What can we expect from your Sex Talk on stage?
You are in for a treat at WellFest this year at my Sex Talk! We’re diving into all things pleasure, confidence, and how to get the most pleasure out of your body. We’ll explore everything from how to rock your orgasms to the secrets behind turning up the heat in the bedroom. Whether you’re looking to spice things up, get some tips to boost your confidence, or just learn some new skills — I have got you covered. As with everything I do, there’s no shame and zero awkwardness, just real talk, sex education, loads of laughs, and a whole lot of empowerment.
What do you hope people’s biggest takeaway will be from your sessions?
My background as a somatic therapist means that I truly believe in the power of connecting with our bodies on a daily basis. In a world that’s constantly overstimulating us and pulling our attention in every direction, being rooted in our bodies is a rare gift. It’s a way to slow down, tune in, and experience the simple pleasure of being turned on from the senses. My hope is that people will walk away with practical, easy-to-implement tools that inspire them to reconnect with the joy, pleasure, and vitality that comes from truly inhabiting their bodies.
Are there any other workshops, classes or workouts you’re looking forward to at WellFest this year?
Every year I attend WellFest, I have a ball! Sometimes there is so much to do that I feel like it is worthwhile planning your weekend in advance. Top of my list is POUND with Carla; you will be ecstatic after this class. Carla knows how to make your blood pump while making sure there is a smile on your face! Other yoga teachers I would add to your list are Rebekah Jade, Manasi and Mandala Yoga with Amy.
Talks I have on my wishlist are with Niall Ó Murchú, Millie Gooch and Michelle Hone. Talking about being turned on from the senses… I absolutely wouldn’t miss the talk with the guys from All About Kombucha. To tell you a secret, myself and the team have been working on a secret drink all year, and WellFesters will be getting the first taste!

At WellFest this year, you are leading the festival’s first-ever run club. What inspired you to do this?
I love leading run clubs with my brand Swifter as it brings me back to the pure joy of running. I’ve had a lot of hard times trying to compete at the top level, and sometimes I forget to enjoy running because I’m so focused on results. Leading run clubs uplifts me as I see people enjoy just pure activity of running for what it is, without any pressure.
What do you hope people will get out of your run club?
I just want people to enjoy it and set themselves up well for the day ahead. It’s important that everyone removes judgment from themselves about what pace they are running at and are just happy to be out running. It’s definitely not a competition as WellFest is just about celebrating the amazing feeling of living an active lifestyle.
For anyone just getting started in running, do you have any advice you’d like to share? Is there such a thing as a runner’s high?
There’s definitely such a thing as a runner’s high, but don’t expect to feel it on your first! It may take a few runs before you finally get that dopamine hit, and still, despite running for 20 years now, some days I run, it feels awful during and afterwards and some days it feels amazing. The key is not to wait for it and do that, and make training a non-negotiable either way. I also want to emphasise that you can enjoy running without having to run long distances. I rarely run more than 8km at once. I don’t intend on running a marathon, but that still makes me a runner. People should just enjoy running whatever distance they enjoy.
How does running make you feel? What other workouts do you enjoy?
I always feel better after training, knowing I accomplished something and am another day closer to my goals is always a great feeling. I do two gym sessions a week to help me stay strong for running and injury-free, and I really enjoy lifting heavy and getting stronger.
Fitness trainer and wellness coach DB DONAMATRIX
DB DONAMATRIX is a globally recognised celebrity fitness trainer, wellness coach, and one of Men’s Health’s Top 40 Fitness Gurus of All Time. Known for his high-energy coaching and signature 4 Quarter Matrix Method, Don has redefined functional training, helping everyone from fitness enthusiasts to elite athletes and Hollywood’s biggest stars unlock their full potential through an innovative, results-driven method.
Tell us about the famous Donamatrix method and how it got started.
When I was training athletes, a lot of times at the end of a workout, just like at the end of a sports game, that’s when it’s at a heightened period, where the competition is high and you’re trying to go for the win. So I took that concept and assimilated the end of a workout to the end of a game, saying, ‘Hey guys, we got to step it up. We’ve got to go a little harder. I know you’re tired, but this is when we’re going for the win’.
I thought about how we can take this concept further with a 45-minute to an hour workout and still be efficient. That’s when I broke down the workout into four quarters, just like basketball and football games, with two exercises per quarter that include three to five sets of 10 to 20 repetitions. Then you need to hydrate after each quarter with electrolytes, vitamins and potassium to replenish your energy levels.
I started the method with my one-on-one training, and that was really good because athletes understood it. But when I started working with a lot of entertainers, a lot of them did what I call ‘the clock watch’. They booked me for an hour, and were watching the clock the entire time, or were chatting and taking calls and not really making the most of the time we had. So, in order for us to get good results, I started using my method for efficiency, and instead of watching the clock, they started saying, ‘What quarter are we in? Let me get this finished’.
This is also great if you’re short on time, even if we only have 30 minutes, we can focus on getting those four quarters in – you just might not have as much rest time. I used to train Fergie, and when she first had her son, we would break up the method, doing a quarter or two in the morning, and then another quarter or two in the evening. That way, in between, she could do her work day, interviews, etc. So it’s especially great for parents because it’s a workout where you can pick up where you left off.
Is this the method you’ll be teaching at WellFest?
Yes, we’ll be doing the resistance band workout that I created. As a young trainer, I noticed a lot of older guys in the gym had injuries, whether it was shoulders, elbows, knees – and I kept thinking, if I’m going to have longevity in this fitness game, I don’t want similar injuries from training restricting me from normal life movements. So that’s why band resistance training is great; you can still tone up without putting the pressure on your ligaments and joints that regular weightlifting does.
So, I’ll be leading two resistance band workouts with the 4 Quarter Donamatrix method on Saturday and Sunday. For the first one on Saturday, we’ll also be going for the world’s largest resistance band workout ever. I’ve been to Dublin before when I was touring with the Black Eyed Peas, and I loved it. So I was excited for this opportunity to come back and do WellFest.
What do you hope that people get out of your sessions at WellFest this year?
I hope that people will see the passion and love that I have for fitness. Also, I want them to learn a new variation with resistance bands that’s different from what they always do in the gym and add four quarters into their own personal workout. So they can take my method and be more efficient, while infusing their own particular exercises into it as well.
Are there any other workshops, classes or workouts you’re looking forward to at WellFest this year?
I love how people bring their own individuality to what they’ve created, or to their workout. And, as a student of the game, I never know what I could pick up on to add to mine. So I’ll be, if not participating, definitely in the facility where people are doing workouts, just to say hi and introduce myself and observe.
