Lucy Rout is a 27-year-old who, following her diagnosis and treatment with a rare pancreatic cancer in 2019, is on a mission to break the taboo and remove the stigma about medicating in public. As Pancreatic Awareness Month draws to a close, she shares her journey and talks about the business she set up to help aid her recovery – and anyone else out there who needs the same support.
It all began with symptoms that Lucy thought related to something considered quite routine. “It was December of 2019, where I had what they thought was just a bit of a grumbling appendix – I had suspected appendicitis.
