Wellness Diaries: Dalila Salgueiro, astro-manifesting coach and founder of The Manifesting App
Dalila Salgueiro, astro-manifesting coach and founder of The Manifesting App shares her self-care insights, tools and rituals, from breathwork to sleep.
I wake at… around 8:30am during the week and around midday over the weekends (my guilty pleasure!). I’m definitely not part of the 5am club.
The first thing I do every morning is… skip my alarm a minimum 5 times. I’m not a morning person so I struggle to wake up in the morning. After that, I practice Wim Hof breathing and visualize my day.
My morning routine is… I clean my inbox from bed, then take my dogs for a walk, have my collagen and supplements and do a full skincare routine. Whilst I walk my dogs I also like to actively meditate: work through my intentions for the day and focus my energy around that for the rest of the day. This is especially good for those who struggle to sit down and meditate in silence as you might find it easier to practice it this way.
I can’t go to work without… a daily juice of cucumber, ginger, beetroot, orange, turmeric and carrot. It is a fantastic way to keep the inmune system up and to keep your summer tan last for longer. I also like to check the quote of the day in my app, The Manifesting App, and find out the daily mantra, so I can incorporate it within my day. For example, I’ve been using the following one recently which I love: “I’m enough. I trust my inner guidance and soul”.
The self-care tool I use every day is…I love su-man’s Gua sha stone for at home facials. It makes me very happy to have my facial routine and disconnect from the day that way.
The best part of my day is… dinner time with my boyfriend. I love talking about the day and sharing ideas and plans. Especially when he cooks for me! Or waking up with all the dogs in the bed with me! I also love the feeling after a really good yoga or Pilates time. I love dedicating that time to myself and not thinking about anything else.
The most challenging part of my day is… trying to shut down my brain before bed time. I’m a super energetic person so I get really hyper during the evenings which then means working until 4am on a new exciting idea or learning new things for my self-developing and Astro-manifesting journey.
I engage with self-care every day by… writing my daily intention, having a healthy vegan diet, a very relaxing skincare routine, Pilates and being in contact with nature and those who I love. Everyone has their own ways to disconnect and we should always prioritize those little moments.
My daily self-care checklist routine includes… having a good night’s sleep. Taking time to be present and live intentionally. I encourage people to live intentionally and with possibility. I envision my day and work towards achieving that intention. For example, reconnect with an old friend, be more kind, more loving, more healthy and align my everyday decisions towards the outcome I want for the day to be.
The quickest, smallest thing I do for myself every day is… conscious breathing. I take 5 minutes during the day to stop and bring myself to the present. I lay on the floor, one hand on my stomach and the other one in the heart and start counting until 10 whilst focusing on my breath and my palpitations. Even with just 5 minutes of breathwork I feel much better, grateful and energised.
I know it’s been a good day if… I know it sounds silly but everyday is a good day. We’re alive and healthy and we should be feeling grateful for each day. Being healthy is a daily success many people forget to celebrate.
I switch off from work by… having a bath, lighting some candles and applying as many creams and body oils I can find in my cabinet. I feel like cleansing my energy and resetting from the day whilst doing so.
Before I go to bed, I’ll… journal and check the astrological energy of the next day. That way I know how to plan accordingly and be more in tune with my astro-manifesting journey.
After a long work week, I destress by… having a long bath and drinking a glass of wine!
My go-to comfort meal is… Pasta Arrabiata. Heaven on earth for me. I also love Walkers salted chips with lemon juice on top and spicy sauce – simple pleasures!
When I really need a moment to myself, I always… try to book a trip. Just even being at an airport makes any of my problems or worries go away. And if traveling isn’t an option, I’ll just go for a walk with the dogs. There is something beautiful about just walking and contemplating nature, feeling the fresh air, that makes me immediately happier.
Something I try to do for myself every day is… drink more water and stretch. We don’t think how important stretching is for our bodies until we’re older so I think prevention and staying active is the key everyday.
The most reflective moment in the day is… in the evenings, I think about the day and if my actions would have made my grandma proud. She’s my guiding light from the sky and I try everyday to live my life following her advice and philosophy in a loving and caring way.
The one person, place or thing guaranteed to give me joy is… I can’t just name one but I’ll say my family, my dogs, and the beach. Los Roques in Venezuela is my secret paradise.
I wish I could do time management more mindfully.
Everyone should try… having a bespoke astro-manifesting consultation. You’ll be surprised about how you can start healing and improving by just following the principles of astrology and the basics of positive psychology. You should also try to book at least one solo trip in your life. It’s a fantastic way to meet new people and get to know yourself better.
