The beauty prep you need to do on Christmas Eve Eve

The beauty prep you need to do on Christmas Eve Eve

It’s Christmas Eve (eve) babe… And we’re doing beauty prep. It’s time to get yourself ready to go, well, absolutely nowhere, for the next ten days.

Today is the day when we’re finalising present wrapping, ticking names off lists, making sausage stuffing and making sure we’ve more than enough milk for tea in case visitors call. It’s Christmas Eve eve, and prep is well underway for the most festive day of the year.

Aside from all that though, today is a good opportunity to take some beauty prep time to yourself. Scrub, shave, shine and hydrate, all so that you look your best on Christmas Eve down the pub, Christmas Day in your gran’s and St Stephen’s Day with your pals. Here are three things you can do quickly to give yourself a beauty boost.

Scrub

This is first on my list – my ankles are looking crustier by the day, and I need a soak and a scrub to get all this latent tan off. I love Tough Stuff by Cocoa Brown for really getting in there and de-crusting. I quite like to soak for an hour in the bath too, but logistically on December 23rd, that’s not exactly feasible.

Mask

Having fresh, energised skin that looks plump and full of glow is quite the challenge, both in winter in general and at Christmas time specifically. Nights out, early mornings, stress, shopping, eating poorly, heat, cold – the list of threats to your skin goes on. At this time of year, you could do with some help in the form of Nivea’s new Q10 Anti-wrinkle + Energy mask to perk yourself back up.

Hydrate

I find using a pure hyaluronic serum to be the ultimate hydration injection for my skin. Nothing gives a more instant plumpness, and combined with my favourite rich moisturiser, my skin would be lost without it in winter. My favourites right now are the Pestle & Mortar one and this, below, from Image Skincare.
