Skin reigned supreme at this years Bafta’s. Although we saw a couple of experimental looks and some colour, the overarching ‘look’ seemed to be focused on a really great, glowing base. Beauty looks were relatively pared back with lots and lots of glow, which is just the skin-spiration we needed mid-February. See below for our picks of the best Bafta beauty looks.
Margot Robbie
Although Margot Robbie’s dress may have divided opinions (it’s a yes from us here at IMAGE) you can’t not be a fan of her make-up on the night. As well as wearing Chanel (as Robbie is the face of their latest campaigns) Pati Dubroff used all Chanel make-up products to create this look. We loved how she picked up on the midnight navy in the dress and used this on her eyes. It would have been predictable to pair this with a navy smokey eye, but instead she used a glossy pop of blue at the lash-line. Paired with fresh skin and a nude-pink lip it gives that amazing dress space to shine.
Thandie Newton
At the Golden Globes last month we saw Thandie Newton rocking larger than life hair. For the Bafta’s she did a complete 360, and went for super straight, sleek hair. This leaves all the focus on her complexion, created using all Chantecaille products. Her skin looks radiant and flawless, with a little smokiness on the eyes. Just the right amount of bronzer shows off her incredible cheekbones which really, don’t need much to emphasis them.
Lucy Boynton
@missjobaker
We are becoming slightly obsessed with Lucy Boynton, as since hitting the red carpet at the Golden Globes she has consistently been delivering incredible beauty looks. The Baftas was no exception with make-up artist Jo Baker creating this gorgeous sunset pink eye winged out dramatically. Paired with long, spidery lashes and a frothy tulle gown the look overall look created is both pretty and whimsical.
Lily Collins
When you have bone structure like Lily Collins and make-up maestro Lisa Eldridge doing your make-up it’s bound to look sensational. We love this bold and vampy look, as it is so striking against her pale complexion. Lily is known for her strong brows and Lisa balanced these perfectly with a dark plum lip and lashings of mascara.
Rachel Weisz
Rachel Weisz’s glow not only comes from her Best Supporting Actress win but from a seriously impressive complexion. We love how soft this is, eyebrows are filled in but not heavy, smudged smokey brown on the eyes and a raspberry stain on the lips with no harsh lipliner in sight. A lot of time has gone into the base here as she is glowing making the overall look feels youthful and fresh.
Salma Hayek
As we all know, Charlotte Tilbury is the queen of the feline flick, and this always evident when she makes-up Salma Hayek. We got serious Sofia Loren vibes from last nights look, with the soft but sexy cat eyes paired with flawless bronzed skin and a glossy lip.
