Looking for New Year’s Eve make-up inspiration? Look no further than the Chanel Métiers d’Art show.

Earlier this month, Chanel presented the Métiers d’Art collection. Lucia Pica, Chanel’s global creative make-up and colour designer took inspiration from the beautiful mirror stairs leading to Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment and the craftsmanship of Métiers d’Art to create three beauty looks.

Each look plays with texture and materials and serves as the perfect inspiration for your make-up look for New Year’s Eve.

The first look focused on imperceptible coverage, groomed brows and one tiny diamond detail on the inner corners of the eyes, “to catch the light,” says Pica.

Remember the Euphoria inspired heavily-glitzed eyes of NYFW? This is how Chanel does it.

Don’t forget to add lashings of mascara.

Do you wish you could wear sequin dresses but you’re afraid of looking like Cadbury Roses? The second look is for you. Fresh, glowy skin, boyish brows, a natural lip and enough silver on the eye to take away from your reliable LBD. The wash of silver on the eye was created with Les Ombres 343 Modern Glamour Eyeshadow: “that went into the inner corners of the eyes and underneath in a straight strong line focused just in the inner part of the eye,” says Pica. “This look has a cool, minimal 90’s vibe.”

And finally, the third look was focused on all things sophisticated, feminine and glossy.

Dewy skin and groomed brows were worn with the perfect glossy eye, created with Baume Essentiel, €42, a cult favourite for every make-up artist I meet for creating wet-look highlighter, glossy eyes and glowy skin. “It’s perfect to recreate the high gloss eyes of the show for your day to day life,” says Pica. “It adds freshness to the look and highlights naturally.”

The deep burgundy lips were created using Le Crayon Levres Brun Carmin, €24 Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme in Rouge Obscur, €36 and Rouge Coco Gloss in Epique, €30. “To have a strong defined glossy lip with a solid colour, layer the lip pencil all over the mouth, a strongly pigmented lipstick and a high shine gloss,” advises Pica.
