My day in beauty with model Sarah Tansey: ‘I’m so glad IT Cosmetics is finally in Ireland!’

My day in beauty with model Sarah Tansey: ‘I’m so glad IT Cosmetics is finally in Ireland!’

One of Ireland’s most successful models, Sarah Tansey is beautiful inside and out. She works internationally for some of the biggest brands in the world, and always has perfect skin, hair and brows while she does it. Here are some of her beauty loves…

“On a daily basis if I don’t have to wear make-up I prefer not to, and to give my skin a break, as shoot make-up often needs to be quite heavy because of the lighting used. For castings it’s always a very natural look and on shoot days it’s compulsory to arrive with a clean face and clean, unstyled hair (a lovely excuse not to bother). I always, always have SPF50 on though and lip balm,” Sarah says.

Sarah’s skincare picks:

Cleanser: Lancome Gel Eclat and Alex Steinherr x Primark Pore Balance
Moisturiser: Boots Soltan Once Face with SPF50 or Kiehls ultra facial cream, or Eucerin Dry Skin Replenishing face cream 5% urea
Serum: The Ordinary Buffet
LipBalm: At the moment I swap between O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair, a Blistex lip balm with SPF15 and
the Alex Steinherr x Primark Sleep Spa Overnight Lip Mask

“If I do have dry skin on my lips I will apply a thick layer of Vaseline, leave it for about ten minutes and then I use the Lush Mint Juleps lip scrub. I’m sure that seems an excessive list of lip products but I have big lips and as a kid they used to actually split and bleed in the winter when they got too dry so I know to keep on top of it now.”

The Ordinary Buffet, €14.80

Sarah’s make-up picks:

Foundation: Bourjois Healthy Mix and Estee Lauder Double Wear
Concealer: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye
Mascara: Benefit They’re Real
Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked 2
Powder: I use any translucent loose powder, at the moment I have one from Catrice
Eyebrows: I have quite full brows and personally I prefer the more natural look so I just use a brown
brow gel/mascara. I usually use a Rimmel one

“I’ve been using “IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye for years and I’m so glad it is finally in Ireland! I like it because I feel it sits well on the skin, their “Light” shade is actually really, really fair and you only need a tiny amount so the tube lasts ages.”

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye, €29

Sarah’s hair picks:

Shampoo and Conditioner: Redken Extreme
Styling: I apply a small amount of Aveda Smooth Infusion to towel dried hair before blow drying
Brushes: I have a Tangle Teaser for wet hair and a ghd Professional Air Vent Brush I use for blow drying
Tools: ghd

“I mostly just use a ghd straightener if I am going to style my hair, I have very thick hair so if I
am going to curl it I use curl clips until the hair cools so the curls don’t fall out straight away,” says Sarah.

Redken Extreme Shampoo, €18 and Conditioner, €19.80
