My Day in Beauty with Newstalk’s Dr Ciara Kelly: Minimalism for max effect

My Day in Beauty with Newstalk’s Dr Ciara Kelly: Minimalism for max effect

Lunchtime Live on Newstalk is one of the highlights of our radio day, and Ciara Kelly’s expert handling of some of the most contentious topics up for discussion make her a must-listen for us. But on the lighter side of things, what exactly is she carrying around in her makeup bag, and how complex is her skin routine? Turns out, not at all…

“I’m totally crap when it comes to this sort of thing,” Ciara admits. “I wash my face in the shower and use an exfoliating mitt. Then I wash it again in the evening with a face cloth. Both times I use water. And then I put on moisturiser afterwards… thats about it! The only must have I carry in my handbag is a small Vaseline.”

CIARA’S SKIN PICKS

Cleanser… don’t own one
Toner… don’t own one
Moisturiser… Q10 from Lidl and I swear by it
Serum… don’t own one
Eye cream… don’t own one
Mask… don’t own one (there’s a bit of a pattern here)
Hand cream Lidl again (you can tell I’ll never be an influencer)

“I do love the Lidl moisturiser because I’ve skin like the Sahara and it’s one of the few things that has worked to keep it nice and dewy which I’d all but given up hope of.”

Lidl Cien Q10 Day and Night Cream, from €2.99 each

CIARA’S SKIN TOP TIP

“Don’t smoke, drink rakes of water and wear sunscreen. I drink a lot of water or else I turn into a prune.”
