Desert Island Beauty Bag: What would Tara Anderson bring?

Desert Island Beauty Bag: What would Tara Anderson bring?
Calling all beauty enthusiasts — something truly beautiful is launching at IMAGE Publications. 2019 will see the very first IMAGE Beauty Festival take place in Dublin city, with every cleanser, curler, concealer and colour you could possibly dream of. With speakers, demonstrations, tutorials and plenty of products, this will be like nothing the Irish beauty scene has seen before. Stay tuned for more information on IMAGE.ie.

Make-up artist and influencer, Tara Anderson is heading on a hypothetical holiday to a remote desert island. She can bring as many (or as few) beauty products as she likes – providing they don’t exceed her €100 budget. So what will she choose?

“I would bring Charlotte Tilbury Eye Cheat, €25, in nude to keep my eyes looking nice and bright,” Tara says. This eyeliner pencil creates the optical illusion of wider, fuller and more awake eyes. Its waterproof formula lasts up to 14 hours and is super blendable. Tara says, “it’s an absolute essential.”

“I would also have to bring Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil 20ml, €22.95, to keep my skin hydrated all day.” This travel-size rosehip oil moisturises, nourishes and repairs the skin. It’s rich in Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9 which are vital nutrients for maintaining optimum skin health.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner, €5.49, in shade Eastend Snob. Tara says, “I can’t live without it!” The soft textured, fine tipped liner adds volume and definition to lips and comes in a wide variety of shades.

“Dr Paw Paw Original Balm, €9, would cover a lot of bases like dry skin, chapped lips, and frizzy hair,” Tara said. The main ingredient in this balm is fermented PawPaw, the fruit of the plant Carica Papaya. It’s been found to have natural healing qualities and is believed to be the finest natural medicine yet discovered. It can even be used on sunburn and skin irritations, so it’s perfect for desert island beauty!

Lastly, I would bring Bourjois’ Radiance Reveal concealer, €10.99. I have really dark circles and this covers a multitude.” This budget-friendly product hides dark circles and imperfections whilst smoothing and hydrating the skin for up to 24 hours.

Total spend €73.43 – well within budget!

But, as we all know, beauty is about more than just skincare. So if Tara could bring just one additional luxury item, she says “I would have to bring a hairdryer. I am not sure if I would have somewhere to plug it in but we would figure something out. I have really frizzy hair – it’s neither curly nor straight and I always blow dry it. I got a Dyson hairdryer a couple of years ago and it really is worth the money. It definitely gives you a smoother blow-dry!”
