Five of the best new concealers

Five of the best new concealers

The best faff-free new concealers for every need.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Concealer, €29.50

A thick but buildable concealer that gives medium to full coverage and hydration to the skin. The wand applicator brush is perfectly precise enough for me to apply it on the train with one hand with a coffee in the other. Apply only to the areas that need it to cover dark circles, blemishes, redness or discolouration and blend with your fingers for skin that really looks like skin. The new formula is creamier and dewier than before, with more inclusive shades too. Of all the new concealers to launch so far this year, this is the one I reach for most.

No7 HydraLuminous Dark Circle Concealer, €14

The first full coverage concealer from No7 is a dark circle destroyer. The formula has caffeine, which depuffs your puffy morning eyes and vitamin C that helps to brighten but it’s the spongy applicator that’s the winner here, which perfectly blends and feels soothing on the eyes. Just make sure you clean it once a week, like you should with the rest of your make-up brushes.

Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Concealer, €37

If you’re among the many who adore Giorgio Armani’s full coverage Power Fabric Foundation, meet the new concealer – the same natural look, light feel and staying power you know and love, now with added concealer coverage. I wore it alone blended lightly over redness and blemishes and spent the morning answering questions on what I had done to my skin.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat High Cover Concealer, €35

There are six YSL Touche Éclat pens sold every minute around the world. It’s one of the most iconic, recognisable products in existence and like tea, Dairy Milk and MAC Studio Fix Fluid, I’ll always have a stash of it in the house. Yet, for some reason, everyone decided to completely ignore that it’s purpose was always designed as a brightening corrector and used it as concealer. Well Yves Saint Laurent have heard your wishes. Touche Éclat High Cover concealer, €35, has the same illuminating and blending power but this time with long-wearing coverage.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible More Than Concealer, €14.99

With a chunky doe-foot applicator, this heavy duty concealer can be applied directly on blemishes for full coverage concealing or stretched across the face for medium coverage that doesn’t bobble on the skin but blends out smoothly and truly lasts.
