Floral fragrances, make-up collaborations and vitamin C: this month’s best in beauty

IMAGE beauty writer HOLLY O’NEILL on the must-haves landing on the beauty desk this May.
SUMMER IN BLOOM
Designer Erdem Moralioglu’s dreamy, botanical aesthetic runs through his newest collaboration: a 13-piece collection with Nars created for eyes, lips and cheeks called Strange Flowers, all housed in one of three original Erdem prints, available in Brown Thomas. In a palette of petal blush, deep burgundy and rosy nudes (and with six lipsticks all named after wildflowers), the Poison Rose Lip Powder Palette, €39, is first on our wish lists.

Master perfumer Alberto Morillas has blended the newest fragrance from Alessandro Michele, Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori, with the addition of fresh green galbanum while retaining the allure of Bloom’s white florals, jasmine and tuberose. Lighter than the original, Jimmy Choo Blossom Special Edition, €70 for 60ml, is the floral and fruity fragrance to keep in your clutch this summer, while Jo Malone London’s new Tropical Cherimoya Cologne, €115 for 100ml, from the Hot Blossoms collection launching in May, has notes of passion flower with velvety tonka bean and Brazilian copahu resin.

WHAT TO WEAR
Trinny Woodall, aka one-half of What Not to Wear’s Trinny and Susannah, is doing for beauty what she once did for our fashion purchases. Her make-up collection,
Trinny London, is a range of cream-based multi-taskers that aim to cut down on the amount we carry in our cosmetic bags and reduce heavy coverage. Formulated to be applied with fingertips, the collection comes in shades customised to match your hair, skin and eyes, in stackable packaging that clicks together, trinnylondon.com.
