Future Icon: The Max Factor foundation that took me pleasantly by surprise

Max Factor’s Radiant Lift was never meant to infiltrate my OG, must-have, love-you-forever foundation collection. But then, I tried it and knew it was a permanent addition. Here’s why.

There are certain things I look for in a foundation, depending on the occasion. For a wedding or long night out, I’ll opt for a Fenty or Huda Beauty option, something long-wearing, high coverage and opaque, so that my sweaty red face won’t appear as if from nowhere an hour into the event.

The requirements continue…

Some days, I want a glowy, fresh complexion but still need coverage, so I’ll hit up Make Up For Ever‘s Ultra HD, It Cosmetics CC Cream or Bourjois Healthy Mix.

Other days – good skin days – I want radiance, light coverage and something that mixes well with my liquid highlighter of choice. I always want it to last, and bonus points if this one has SPF. Because chances are, if it’s a good skin day, I’m going out into the air to show it off (at least to my dog and the other dog parents in Malahide Castle).

I found it!

I’ve never fallen deeply in love with a Max Factor foundation before – my MF loves have been of a different kind – but Radiant Lift is a cut above. It’s got it all – light (but still decent) coverage, a good SPF, it’s easy to blend, it mixes well with my liquid highlighter du jour (Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone) and it seamlessly sits into the skin.

For just under €20, this one really competes with foundations that are double the price, and for everyday wear, that’s a pinch point for me. I’m reluctant to splash out €50 quid for something I wear to walk the dog and go to Tesco. So thank you, Max Factor, for giving me the addition to my collection I never knew I needed!
