IMAGE staffers reveal their must-have products for the Business of Beauty Awards 2019
21st Feb 2019
The IMAGE Business of Beauty Awards is nicknamed Ireland’s ‘Beauty Oscars’ for a reason. Everyone wants to look and feel their best – so only our favourite make-up products will do. Here’s what Team IMAGE is bringing to BOB 2019.
Charlotte Tilbury Rock n Kohl eyeliner
“My product is Charlotte Tilbury Rock n Kohl eyeliner (€25 from Brown Thomas) in ‘Eye Cheat’. It makes your eyes look big and bright, lasts all night long, and I love it!” – Ciara Cosgrove, Operations Director
Catrice Tattoo Liner
“I will be bringing my Catrice Tattoo Liner – the waterproof version (€3.70 from Sam McCauley chemists). The Business of Beauty Awards is such a long working day with plenty of running around, so I need to wear something that looks put-together and will stay on all night! Also, black flicks paired with red lipstick is my go-to look for events, especially one like BOB.” – Hannah Hillyer, Office Manager
Charlotte Tilbury lipliner in ‘Pillowtalk’
“I’ll be bringing my trusted Charlotte Tilbury lipliner in the colour ‘PillowTalk’ (€22 from Brown Thomas). I fell in love with this product years ago, and I’m currently coming to the end of my fifth pencil; and as you can see from the video below, my sixth repurchase will be in the imminent future. This shade matches my natural lip colour perfectly and works as a great base if you like to wear a pinky nude. I also have dry lips, and it doesn’t aggravate any cracking or peeling.” – Corinne Vaughan, Senior Account Manager
“I rarely leave the house without lip liner on so, for BOB, I will certainly be arming myself with one of my favourite liners to accentuate my lips (colour outfit-dependent!)” – Rachael Gallivan, Head of Branded Content Studio
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick
“I’ll be bringing my YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick (€33 from Boots) to the Business of Beauty Awards this year. It’s halfway between a lipstick and a lip balm, meaning my lips will stay hydrated after lots of re-applications (it’s a long night!). Bright pink is my favourite shade right now – because spring, sunshine and colour can’t come soon enough!” – Dominique McMullan, Digital Editor
Urban Decay Subversion and Perversion duo
“My Urban Decay mascara combo is essential for any big event. I use the white tube – Urban Decay Subversion (€21 from Debenhams) – first. It acts as a primer; lifting, separating and volumising the lashes. I then add a layer from the black tube – Urban Decay Perversion (€23.50 from Debenhams) – to complete that false-lash effect.” – Grace McGettigan, Homepage Editor
MAC lip liner in ‘Spice’
“I won’t be going to the Business of Beauty Awards without my MAC lip liner in ‘Spice’ (€17.50 from Brown Thomas). I don’t really have lips and I like to give the illusion of fullness without the needles – and this is the perfect brown-toned shade to do that. And as they say, ‘fake it til you make it!'” – Edaein O’Connell, Staff Writer
