With over 20-years’ experience in the beauty industry, Paula Callan has worked with everyone from Naomi Campbell and Sienna Miller, to Elle McPherson. On Saturday 16th June, she’ll join IMAGE contributing editor Melanie Morris to share her top make-up tips and tricks.
The event, which takes place in Boots, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, promises to be lively and information-packed. Paula, who recently launched her own successful salon in Dublin, will discuss all things make-up and beauty. By the end of the day, you’ll have all the ammunition you need to create the best beauty looks for summer. But first, the businesswoman sat down with Image.ie to share her favourite go-to products.
You have five minutes to get ready what do you use?
“I love Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue foundation. It’s really light and leaves your skin feeling flawless. The next thing I do is curl my lashes; my lashes are naturally short so I need a little curl to make them appear longer. I would always recommend a good lash curler such as Tweezerman Great Grip eyelash curler. Mascara is also hugely important. I always apply my mascara after I curl my lashes; I find the mascara just sticks to the curler if it’s applied beforehand. My favourite mascara is Lancôme Hypnose mascara.
Another time-saving product I love is the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer. It has an amazing whipped texture that just melts into the skin, leaving you looking like you’ve spent the day sunbathing. Finally, a dusting of Chanel Vitalumière powder. It’s the most ‘unpowder’ powder you could ever find. It has a fabulous luminosity to it and never feels dry or cakey. I know so many women who are terrified of powder that would love this product.”
What’s the first beauty product you remember using?
“The first ever make-up product I used was a Rimmel lipstick in shade Heather Shimmer. It was the colour of the moment!”
What’s your trusty drugstore makeup product?
“I love sauntering around drugstores; you can always find something amazing. I love a good drugstore brand for reasonably priced make-up. Rimmel is amazing for lippy.”
What make-up trend do you wish you could banish?
“It’s funny, the one thing you say you want to banish will suddenly become the next trend. But, to be honest, I think too much make-up is something I’ll always hate. I love natural beauty and flawless skin; that will always be in fashion.”
Paula Callan will join IMAGE contributing editor Melanie Morris to chat about all things skincare on Saturday, 16th June. Sign up for her Beauty at Boots event for an informative discussion on the best of summer beauty.
