The €11.95 palette that rivals those three times the price

The €11.95 palette that rivals those three times the price

This palette took me by complete surprise – for less than €12, I wasn’t expecting to be blown away with the pigment. I was proven wrong and learned not to judge a palette by it’s cover…

Essence is a brand that I know has a few heavy hitters – budget beauty that really competes with the pricier brands. But when it came to the Witch Side palette I wasn’t sure how it would stack up.

How wrong I was! With 15 shades, at least 12 of which are extremely accessible and wearable and not scary at all, it gives lots of options for creating both day and night eye looks.

I’m no make-up artist myself, needless to say,  but I created a day time look with Ritual as my base, Wish as my blending shade and a magic as my crease shade. I also threw a little tiny dot of Amulet into the inner corners for brightness. I was so impressed with the pigment, the lack of drop down onto my cheeks and how buttery the blend was. Had I wanted to amp the look up for night, I would have added on some of the Spell shade.

I did see the ever-fabulous Pippa O’Connor wearing a navy eye recently and at some point, I may try to recreate it with the Gloomy shade… Although I’ll need to be feeling particularly brave.palette

Blogger Ellie Kelly created this look using entirely Essence products recently, and used some of the Witch Side shades. This is a fairly easy to follow look – the tutorial is on her Instagram too.
