The retinol product that even people with sensitive skin can use

The retinol product that even people with sensitive skin can use

A retinol product that works on the most reactive skin is the dream, but most people are still apprehensive. La Roche-Posay are about to launch a new product could change that…

From 6 January onwards, those of you with sensitive or reactive skin will be able to put a retinol to the test finally. And best of all, you won’t have to stress about dryness, flaking, redness or even burning sensations on your skin.

A kind brand

La Roche-Posay is a brand I would usually associated with being kind to skin. Generally suitable for those of us with sensitivities, they always make their products enjoyable to use while still being incredibly effective.

Any time anyone needs a recommendation for a skin condition like eczema or atopic dermatitis, or a recommendation for skincare for children and young people, they’re who I recommend.

The new launch

Back to the retinol. In an eye-catching red bottle, you’re unlikely to miss this when it hits shelves. A lot of people are worried about their skin not reacting well to something like retinol, a highly active ingredient. People sometimes associate retinol with red, dry and flaking skin – so would steer clear.

La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum

€39.50 from pharmacies nationwide from 6 January

But this new product is ideal for those looking for an entry-way into retinol use. It will fight the visible signs of ageing like any retinol, but will combine those efforts with a unique formulation for sensitive skin.

It contains 0.3% Retinol, while the vitamin B3 and other skin-friendly ingredients keep the skin protected and hydrated. It’s dermatologist recommended for sensitive skin, too.

To note…

Some things to remember, by way of advice when using this, or any product containing retinol:

  • Don’t use it with any other retinol products
  • Avoid direct contact with eyes and lips
  • Use after your night time cleanse on clean skin
  • Wear SPF of minimum 15+ the next day as your skin might be more sensitised
