In the bag: The 19 beauty products Ruthy Ruby can’t live without

Influencer Ruthy Ruby takes us through her make-up bag and the 19 products she can’t live without

We asked Instagram favourite, beauty obsessive and all around cool girl Ruth Walsh to divulge her beauty must haves.

The products she swears by, uses time and time again and just can’t be without.

Here are her top picks from supplements to skincare to fragrance.

Skin Accumax, €53 at The Skin Nerd

“Cleared my cystic acne and I’ll be taking this forever I think. It’s a really strong Vitamin A product that works from the inside and nourishes all layers of your skin. Feeds every cell in the body so can help support all areas of skin, such as the face, chest, back and shoulders. It has even hit my nails and hair. I really can’t recommend this enough.”

Glossier Solution, €22 at Glossier

“Does what it says on the tin, the best solution to most surface skin issues. I love using this because it dissolves any blemishes or milia over a few weeks and if you use it every day, your skin is just optimised. I use this every morning and night and if I wear the Glossier skin tint over it, it creates this lovely tacky texture.

CosRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, €28.99 at Beautyshop.ie

“A slimy yet beautiful hydrating blanket for your face. I love interesting textures and this is basically like the slime trail that snails leave behind. Another Korean skincare product that my friend Vicky introduced me too in New York.”

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum, €76 at Dermalogica

“A boost for your under eyes that I also use on any dry spots that need attention. This is a great, easy to use serum that just melts into your under-eye area.”

Neighbourhood Botanicals The Daily Glow, €33.50 at Beauty Bay

“It’s an enviable everyday glow. One of the girls I work with came in with it on one day and we all ended up buying it within 5 minutes of seeing her. Think, Arwen in Lord of the Rings level of effervescent glow.”

Yonka Hydra No.1 Masque, €47 at The Skin Nerd

“This is a beautiful, comforting moisturiser that’s very thick but without any greasy feeling. I lash a really big layer of this on before I go to sleep and my skin is super plump when I wake up.”

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint, €24 at Glossier

This is my favourite foundation ever. I wear shade G11 but it’s basically translucent. I started wearing this when I arrived in New York. It took me a while to get used to the 1% coverage but with the right skincare, it’s really all you need. It’s funny because I used to wear a lot of matte, full coverage foundation before I left Ireland but when I got to New York and saw all these beautiful women with barely any makeup on I was like I need to embrace this and my own natural skin. I highly recommend it. I use my hands to put this on, so simple and easy.”

Kosas Tinted Face Oil, approx €47 at Cult Beauty

“New to the game but I am in love with it. LA ‘it’ girl Devon Carlson introduced me to it in one of her vlogs. It’s an oil but also a foundation, hard to get your head around but it looks stunning on and a little goes a very long way. I use my beauty blender with this to bounce it on my skin.”

Benefit 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Gel, €27.50 at Debenhams

Holds them up and holds them in place – like what the perfect man should do.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara, €29.50 at Brown Thomas

“A cute small tube, great staying power and lush texture.”

Tarte Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler, €18 at Tarte

“Cannot live without this, even on no makeup days my lashes are curled.”

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette, €50 at Arnotts

“This palette gives you the sexiest gaze. My eye are blue and this just intensifies the colour, it almost makes them look green sometimes. I will never ever be without this.”

Glossier Pro Tip, €17 at Glossier

“A really good, buildable felt liner. Check out my Instagram post about it. You need to do soft, slow stroke to build up to a very opaque black line and the tip is so precise to help you create the perfect flick.”

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lipliner in Supersize Me, €22 at Charlotte Tilbury

“A perfect tawny rose that plump the shape of your lips.”

Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint, €32.50 at Brown Thomas

“An amazing lip balm that is both luscious and hydrating.”

Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask, €19.99 at Beautyshop.ie

“Korean skincare in a lip drenching balm.”

Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff, €18 at Glossier

“An amazing blusher that I wear every day.”

Lip Palette LES 4 ROUJE, €39 at Rouje

“I bring this everywhere with me. It’s a four-way lip colour palette that is as pleasant to apply as it is with colour pay off. I love taking a few minutes every day to open it,  mix all the colour and press onto my lips. I first got the 01 signature quad of perfect nudes and deep reds then I got 03 passion that had four bright and bold reds. “

Charlotte Tilbury Scent of a Dream Perfume, €89 at Brown Thomas

“This has magical attraction powers. It attracts love, light, power, positivity and sex to the wearer. It’s my secret weapon if I’m honest, it’s so captivating.”
